Well, now EA have the rights to all previous Bond films, all Bond films until 2010, and can also make games not based on any films, but utilising the Bond licence, who's betting we'll see a bunch of Bond games in quick succession, each less imaginative than the last...?

I'm also betting before the contract runs out EA try to redo Goldeneye. All they need to do for that one is recreate the game Rare made years ago for the N64 with nicer graphics. But I'll be betting EA get cocky, try being clever and pilferrring the 'best' bits of the old Goldeneye (probably the bits most easily emulated) and adding their own touch of 'genius' (read: horribly misguided attempt at innovation based on the illusion they have some grain of talent in designing games) and end up ruining the whole thing.

What's worse is that the contract runs out in 2010... may seem a long way off, but with 20 films (17 if you knock off the ones there are already games of...?) to turn into games if EA are to milk this cash cow as much as they can in only 7 years, that's more than 2 games a year. So inevitably they'll end up like the Fifa games. Far too many of them, and very few worth bringing out for all the additional gameplay elements they added.

EA are blatantly incapable of providing anything other than boringly average Bond titles, and this is simply another cash cow for them to milk...

Very optimistic today, I am...

People get so hung up about EA. So they have a lot of franchises, big deal? It's only because they can afford to do so. If other companies had as much money as EA do, most would probably do the same. Take FIFA for example, in the last three years there's been the same amount of FIFA games than there has Pro Evo games, and you could argue that FIFA has developed more than PES has. All the US sports games are highly enjoyable, the Bond games all score highly, so where's the problem?

If you don't like them, don't buy them. Corporate greed is nothing new, and nothing interesting.

*Beats to death with silencer to PPK*
Dalton said the 'The name's Bond... James Bond' bit soooo wrong.
The films he was in weren't that bad, but it's just the fact he couldn't say that bit properly at all annoys me...

Yeah, but Connery's accent is more Scottish now than it was then, which is Strange, considering he doesnt even live here anymore.

I disagree old boy, but everyone has their favourite Bond. Moore was super suave, had a glib tongue, plenty of cheeky puns, a dapper range of flairs and safari suits and was all-round very English, whereas Connery is Scottish.

They could do good things with the license, rather than just turfing out FPS after FPS.

It's the ideal opportunity to make a realistic racing game, featuring all of the great vehicles that have been a part of the Bond movies over the years. Including the double decker bus.

Get Maxis involved too. Sim Bond. Build Government building with over the top training facilities, fund Q's developments. You can also build enemy bases, carved into huge volcanos, and design the traps for Bond to escape from.

Fingers crossed...

Nah, ain't gonna happen.

Maybe what E.A could do is take all the films and just put them in to one or two games. Split each film in to a few missions and just split it that way. Might have to release maybe two or three compitations of them all depending on how big each film is as a game. They could just take the very best bits from each movie and use them. Nothing that detracts from any of the originals.

I think a good option for future Bond titles would be to allow the player to choose which version of Bond you'd like to play as.
All the most recent Bond games have had you playing as a Pierce Brosnan lookalike, but I want to play as the main man Roger Moore.
