The first review I've seen of the game just popped up, head over to

http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/
launchreview.asp?reviewid=182831

It's very amaturishly written, but he seemed to have a blast with the game. Anybody else got their hands on this game early? What'd you think of it?

Not really. The controls are poorly though through. No, not even that - they're awful. Way too sensitive when you don't want them to be, and not responsive enough when you do. Things are drawn out and complicated and at the end of the day the game is rather frustrating for it.

Such a wasted oppurtunity...

yeah there's loads of movies that aren't in the film. they were acted out just for the game. do you mean Niobe's doing some fighting in the game or like in a film clip in the game?? on 'easy' the game may be short. but the higher the diffuclty setting the longer it'll take you. you also get to diss out more whoop azz! but they shhot at you more!! and the Agents can seriously kick yo azz on hard. i worked out how to do the split kick in mid air, and the same move, but...after the split kick before he/she touches the ground (i do this if there's 3 of them) he/she will do the split kick instantly followed by a forward/back kick. how awsome! this game is a must! :-)

The lorries colliding are amazing, its in the film as well. So are there loads of movies that are not in the film? As I keep recalling that theres abit where Niobe is doing some fighting yet in the film she has very little screen time and that scene isnt in the film. If theres alot of scenes then I may rent this game soon. I played it in Game and thought it was ok. Everyone has been saying that its quite short.

you must be doing something wrong if you think controling Niobe or Ghost is hard, Mav. it's a piece of cake. like stealing sweets from a baby. clear as vodka. i know pretty much most of the moves now, which is so sweet cause when i'm surrounded or not for that matter, i've got the moves in my head. so i can kick azz to how i please. cartwheels are cool and simple to pull off. i've also worked out how i did a sweet move too, kicking two people at once (doing the splits in mid air)...love that! the clips from the "film" are actually acted out just for the game. how cool are these people! except maybe a couple, like the one where the two lorries collide. awsome by the way. i also love the one where...Jackon is it? anyway, he has a "play fight" with Seraph. which is really cool. that Seraph is seriously fast! i think they asked Jet Li to play him but he turned them down...what's that about? who'd be stupide enough to turn down a part in a matrix film??

I think Mav summed it up. Enjoyable enough, but flawed and not essential.

Ive got it on Ps2 an it rox but it is very short an the agents wont die unless you electricute them or push them off a building. Its a gd game an i really like it especially the post office at the lobby bit and the cut scenes from the film are wicked. there are sloppy things on it which could ave easily bin improved like the ladder climbing and pipes an all that but generally i thought it kicked azz.im playin it again as niobe yes things are praticly the same but there are differences and its just fun kickin in people.

I also found this move where you grab an agent and shoot him in the stomach doesnt kill him yet trinity did it in the 1st film.
some1 asked about the hacking well its supposed to be for cheats and getting files just go on a gd website an it will tell you.

I'm renting this at the moment, and I have to say, I'm not impressed.

As a real die hard Matrix fan, and having found out it was created by the Wachowski (sp?) brothers, I ignored the comments in this thread and thought it'd be something special. I was wrong.

The controls are awful - the characters handle like oiled robots, and some moves are incredibly difficult to pull off (e.g. the cartwheel - hold bullet time, sidestep, jump, shoot) rendering the game quite frustrating. It ruins otherwise excellent features such as bullet time and the combat which are, most of the time, great fun.

The levels are uninspired and repetitive, with a viciously unbalanced learning curve (I'm playing through on Normal) and the AI and collision detection is laughable. But somehow, it manages to be rather good fun to play and when you pull something off (there's an impressive amount of combat maneuvers) it looks excellent. Plus, the decent storyline will keep you going.

Certainly not worth buying, but definitely rent it.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
