"I have it, I finally have it"

And lo, it is good. In fact, it's the most blinding game I think I've ever played. I'm talking of course, about the wonder of Grand Theft Auto 3. If youhaven't already got it, then buy it (unless you're a youngster). Top moments so far:

Finding some Docks and a massive boat at about half 12 last night, which I didn't notice for about 5 hours.
Stealing an Ambulance and driving it up a ramp, landing it on a Paramedic, treating the man I just beat up.
The 'street race' mission.
The insane stunt bonuses.
Joe Pantoliano doing a voice.
Running over everyone.
Stealing a bloke's car, then having him run up beside me, pull me out and steal it back. Git.

Seriously, I expected it to be good, but I never expected it to be so flipping massive, I could spend hours not touching any of the missions. The best game I have played in ages, go get it, even if you haven't got a PS2, buy both - it's worth every penny.

6 seconds with a pistol
13 seconds with a shotgun
28 seconds with an Uzi
4 minutes with an army truck and grenades

The Triads really, really hate me.
As do The Mafia and that gang in the park.
But not as much as the Colombian Cartel does.

Let them get in, so somewhere with no traffic. (back to your hideout or off the road)

And then laugh as the car starts rockin' and your health goes up to 125.

Then when she gets out, jump out and get your money back.

I don't think I can go back and do that street race. I'm on the second Island, and when I go back to the first Island, all the things have disappeared from my map.

No Luigi, no Toni, no Salvatore, no street race.

Just lots of angry Chinese people who shoot the crap out of my if I ever go into Chinatown.

I'm tempted just to wander in there with an Uzi and see how long I last....

I've been waiting patiently for my copy, monkey_boy. And anyway, I'll bring mine up and get it working later this month. Then we can get hookers and stuff. Incidentally, how do you 'get intimate' with the ladies of the night? I can get them into my car, but they just sit there while I steer the wheel left and right like a child on an arcade machine.

I think Luigi only gives you a few.
The street-race, yeah that got me too for a while.
I found the easiest way was to slow down for the 1st corner, let 'em all pile into each other and then just throttle it about.

Once that's done, you get to do those gang missions and The Mafia start employing you.
I won't spoil any more of it, just enjoy it.
I'm on the 2nd island now and getting arrested so many times it isn't funny.

And to think I hesitated before buying this.

I can't win that damn street race, it's too hard. Also, I seem to haver lost Luigi from my map, can't I have any more missions please?

My fav moments:

Coming back to Portland with a car full of Yardies to kill members of the gang that hate me.

The Triads going mental whenever I go near them now.

Staunton Island: Going into the multi-story car park, driving to the top in the Yakuza Stinger and launching myself off the ramp at the edge. (Slo-mo insane stunt-bonus)

Yanking out a Mafiosa, stealing his car only to smash into a lampost, mafia bloke dragging me out of his car and shooting me until I died.

Using the ice-cream van to blow up loads of punks

Burning 25 Triads in 2 minutes with a flamethrower

I forgot the radio stations. I played for about 5 hours last night and I don't think I heard anything repeated. I like the Pogo Monkey ad.

Told you so.
