I have heard from a reliable source that the GameCube's release date may be put back until sometime next September. If my calculations are correct, that means that the X-Box will have a whole half year head start, and the PS2 will be TWO YEARS ahead. To be honest, the PS2 hasn't done much games-wise yet(forgive me, GT3, GTA3 and SSX fans), and the X-Box won't have much support in Japan, this doesn't matter too much, but it is still a fair way off, and with games like MGS2 and Max Payne in the console pipeline, it seems as if Nintendo will lose the next-gen console battle. What are your thoughts on this piece of news?

That's exactly the risk Nintendo are taking, especially with Christmas turning up and STILL no release date.
WE WANT THE CONSOLE TBN or we'll be forced to play on the... dare i say it Playstation 2.

I can't wait for that GameCube's European realease date, I just hope that Grix and Dringo here are right, although I'm willing to bet that Grix will help me out with that one and point out that he's always correct :-D

I'd say 4 years for PS3 at least as for the enxt Nintendo one if there will be another one i'd say 6 years.

Yep i heared that as well and with the american launch only 2 weeks away Nintendo can calculate the success and give us a date hopefully by early december or late november...

It's just an old rumour, fortunatly. The newest bit of news is that NOE have blabbed again, and the release is according to them, in March.
