I did not notice this problem before because I was using a tiny portable but am now using my shiny new 21" beast
The problem I have noticed is that the screen appears to be slightly off centre with a slight band down the right hand side of the screen with the picture touching or past the left hand edge
It appears that the picture needs shifted 1cm to the right on the screen.
On a monitor this is easy but on the TV it is not so straight forward. I have tried it out on my other big TV and the problem is the same. This would lead me to believe it is the picture from the PS2 that is off centre
Does anyone know how to adjust the picture from the PS2?
But it also says that you can physically damager the TV if you balls it up, so I may not bother!
Unfortunately, there's no way of moving the screen by default on the PS2.
However, many games do provide a screen-centring option. Unfortunately not all of them do (GTA3 included). It should be a standard feature in my opinion, but sadly it's not.
I believe this is only a problem when using an RGB SCART lead, for some reason, and is not an issue if using the composite lead supplied with the console.
