Can anyone help in a problem I have noticed

I did not notice this problem before because I was using a tiny portable but am now using my shiny new 21" beast

The problem I have noticed is that the screen appears to be slightly off centre with a slight band down the right hand side of the screen with the picture touching or past the left hand edge

It appears that the picture needs shifted 1cm to the right on the screen.

On a monitor this is easy but on the TV it is not so straight forward. I have tried it out on my other big TV and the problem is the same. This would lead me to believe it is the picture from the PS2 that is off centre

Does anyone know how to adjust the picture from the PS2?

You will screw your TV if you play about with all the different things. I just stuck to moving my RGB Shift setting, that wont do any harm, but anything else wrong with my TV, the nice engineer man can come and sort it out.

Cheers, I found a site that tells me how to access the "electronic service menu".

But it also says that you can physically damager the TV if you balls it up, so I may not bother!

I can only remember using Yahoo to search for it, I can't remember the actual page, but I would suspect that every TV will have settings of this type.

Bonus, where did you get that info? It'd be interesting to know if there's such a feature on my WEGA.

This isn't a problem with the PS2, but a standard feature on all TVs with true RGB Scart support. The technical term for it is called "RGB Shift". I had this problem with my 24" Hitachi widescreen tele, but with a little searching on the internet, I was able to find out how to access the advanced service menu on my TV. And in this menu is an option called "RGB Shift". I reduced this setting and the picture moved to the left, so I just kept going until it was centred, I'm sure Hitachi wont be too chuffed that I did this with the TV under warranty, but, who cares, my PS2 picture sits centre on the screen now.

But rest assured it's not a problem with your PS2.

I have the same problem on my 28" WEGA.

Unfortunately, there's no way of moving the screen by default on the PS2.

However, many games do provide a screen-centring option. Unfortunately not all of them do (GTA3 included). It should be a standard feature in my opinion, but sadly it's not.

I believe this is only a problem when using an RGB SCART lead, for some reason, and is not an issue if using the composite lead supplied with the console.
