Take a look at this:-

http://www.nintendoweb.com/news/1000/011.html

It's about a new handheld console called "GP32".

A Korean firm called GamePark, and Matsushita (a Nintendo partner interestingly enough) are making it.

Like the GBA, the machine will be 32-bit. Sporting a 32-bit RISC CPU, a color LCD screen, 8MB of SDRAM, and 8MB of ROM, the machine is definitely looking to impress. The system's screen will feature a 320x240 resolution (slightly sharper than the GBA's), and claims of a ten-hour battery life using only two AA batteries.

One advantage this console has over the GBA is that the company plans to make the machine Open Source. What this means is that people will be able to make their own games and software for the machine. I think this will help make the machine very popular. There's loads of people out there that like to tinker about with programming consoles, and making software, and I think this conosle is gonna appeal to them.

What do other people think of this new console?

:)

Well, it's got a lot of competition before it starts from the GBA. I mean, look how well that's sold so far.

Good luck to them though, it's always good to have more than one platform, it keeps the others on their toes.
