Argh! I completely forgot about the wood ¦^o

It wasn't bent much, but if I'm going to keep my pool cue (of which I'm very over-protective!) in there then it needs to be straight to make sure the cue doesn't warp to the bend in the wood.
(It was 12mm plywood)

I have half a mind to try to find some nicer wood and a decent electric saw and start over, but I'm sure I have plenty more mistakes to make, so I'd better try to make them on this case first :^)

You know if Kelly really is a psycho then she might have a genetic abnormality that stops you having kids...
Then again they'd probably just be a bit deformed ;^)

It's hard to get a feel for what's going on just reading one side of things over the internet, but I think if you spoke to her you'd be 'in'.
And even if you weren't at least you'd know.
Though I don't expect it to happen any time soon of course.

:^)

You're using 2p coins? Heh, that's a new one!

Actually, I don't think I've actually heard of any sure-fire way to re-straighted wood, if it really is that badly bent...

What we did do with some 6'x6' panels at work was to leave them in the kiln for a day. They were BADLY bent. And, because they're importing, we really HAD to at least try and get them back, because of all the costs and money envolved. It didn't work brilliantly, but it did seem to do a good job - and, yes, they did eventualy sell (at a reduced price, of course).

What sort of sized wood is it?
If it's thin stuff, and you're only gonna nail it to something, you may find that it'll be fine anyway, provided it's no C-shaped or anything...?
Either that, or you should try some kind of kiln-treatment.

Things aren't really ever as bad as I make them out to be. I just find it very hard to tell people things that, as I see it, could change so-much.
Of course, I want to tell them. As hard as I find it to say something, I do hate keeping this from people - and it only gets worse with the fact that I've known for months, and also, that it's now already happened.

My dad, however, doesn't want everyone knowing yet until he's left for Cyprus (sometime in April or May, it seems, at the moment). That only makes it more difficult... Especially when he still refers to my mum as "my wife" infront of other people at work.

I do still intend to leave my job towards the end of the summer. I'm still not sure where to go, though. The most obvious choice, seeing as it's local and I am interested in joinery work, has to be for a simplistic job-change at where I am now (that'd also give me a hundred-and-one MORE chances with Kelly!). I have considered looking elsewhere, though; more further-away. But, I'm not sure if I'd really be happy doing that. I mean, I get on really well with everyone at work, now. Option 2 only seems like the easy choice to "run-away" from it all.

Speaking of Kelly, I've still done 'nothing' (as you would probably expect!). It just seems to confuse me, now, every time I see her...
I mean, there she is, all happy to (literaly) JUMP at the chance to help me out - especialy if it gives her the chance to duck-out of a problem she's caused (like with yesterday) for 5 seconds - yet, she still seems to want to be all-over Muppet. The main problem with yesterday's thing (which, someone else got blamed for) was that she was told the order, didn't right it down, but told him. However, he didn't tell anyone, so, no-one else knew, besides those 2. And so, the customer gets back to his work, only for his boss to be rung-up and told he's been loaded with not even HALF the order.

And it's not the first time the 2 of them have kept it between themselves, either. With the way they do things like this, and their attitudes towards each-other, at times, anyone could think they were still going-out...!
And then, I ask myself: 'Does she really feel something for me? Does she still have feelings for him? Or is she really the "bunny boiler" everyone else says she is???'

Let's look at another incident on Thursday. At the end of the day, I'm walking upstairs to return my radio, when I hear someone ask her a question. "Kel'.." is all I hear (because of my clomping on the wooden stairs). And then, as I emerge, Big Adam says "...As he comes walking up the stairs!", and suddenly, it's silence.

While I'm hiding something from them all, it's like all the office staff are, in turn, keeping something from me, too. And it's things like this that really do my nut in, at times. Especially when I don't have the courage to talk to her infront of anyone else in that small, little office.

And then, there are MORE questions going unanswered!

Anyway. I'm quite looking forward to getting pished tommorow-night and hopefuly seeing her again next Monday, Thursday and Friday. But again, another Friday night goes by where I wonder 'what she's doing' and 'who she's with', not knowing a concrete thing about her....

Heh. It's not finished yet.
Actually all the pieces of wood have been sat under a couple of thick books for a month or so. The wood bent, and I was trying to correct it, though it didn't seem to be improving.
Today I stuck 2p coins under the ends so that the book bends the wood the opposite way. Hopefully that'll work...

Next time (if and when..) I'll use a proper electric saw. Hopefully that'd help things.

I was thinking about the wood because if I had a good saw and improved my skills I might be able to knock them together and sell them on as a part time on the side money thing.
It'll probably never happen of course, but it seemed like a nice idea to think about.

If I could get hold of some nicer wood I could try something better than this plywood monstrosity for my own use too :^)

Sounds like you're going through a tough time though. Is it a problem if the other people know, or did you just not want to tell them?

Yes, I work in a timber yard. However, no, we don't sell ANYTHING of which you could find to be of GOOD use towards making any kind of musical instrument. All our timber is strictly "fencing-grade" material. So, you could be there with a guitar, strummin'-away, when, suddenly... SNAP! It's split right down the middle, where that gurt knot was!

If you're after wood like that, you're probably better off trying either a propery 'Carpentry/Joinery' place (although, I reckon that could be doubtful...) or somewhere that specialises in things like musical instruments.

Heh, and it'd be one-heck-of-a delivery-charge if you were to order from us, anyway! (At least, I don't think you live in the West or Midlands, do you?) :)

What were you thinking of making now?
(I bet you still haven't finished that case yet, have you?! ;) )

I should've passed my driving test last Tuesday. I did well enough, and, infact, I did nothing wrong! The examiner was just in her miserable "wanting-more-money" pisss-of-a-mood, and was willing to pick on anything even the slightest of things (it all seems so clear to me, now).

I know I've said I didn't deserve it before, but, I can see why I failed then. However, not ANYONE I've spoken to can see what I did wrong, last week!

Playing football with some people earlier [God, I'm not as fit as I thought I was!! :S ], it seems some of them have already suffered with cancelled tests, but haven't even gotten their money back, yet.
They don't know nothing about `when´ as of yet. And so, I fear I WILL be looking at an even-longer wait than early April! :(

Things are getting a bit hectic at work, anyway. While my minds always on "other things", it seems like summer's come VERY early, with the amount of impatiently-growing customers were struggling to serve - and it wasn't even half-as-bad as this, this time last-year!
As nice as the weather's gonna be and everything, I think we're starting to dread what this summer's gonna be like, when it REALLY picks-up again.... :S

What's more, we're short-staffed (hence, why I - the part-timer - am working more). And yet, they aren't looking to employ anybody else! Instead, they seem just "happy" to pull people from all over the yard, just to serve customers - and, in turn, their work suffers, too!

Sometimes, I REALLY don't understand how the minds of these "businessmen" really work...! :P

And, to make things even worse for them, I AM still planning on quitting this job, in about 6-months-time. Don't know where I'll be, or what, exactly, I'll be doing; but, I don't think anyone there really has any idea! Then, come August, we'll see how "clever" they really are... ;)

Things at work are getting very awkward, though. People now know I've moved house, but, even after all these months of ME knowing, they still don't know why. They still don't know my parents have split-up.
My dad did tell my boss (he does a bit of work for him), but I just can't seem to tell anyone - it's a lot harder than I thought it'd be.

What's worse, though, is how my dad's started using work as a way to get through to me, whenever HE wants. He's been up several times in the last fortnight, and it's really distracting having him there, since everything's NOT as alright as they all think.
Yes, I still want to see him, but there's a time and a place - and between the hours of 9 and 5, while I'm at work, is not one of them!

God, he even saw Kelly the other Saturday (the big pervert!)...
"Look; here comes your girlfriend!" - I could've hit him! :@
I don't know if she saw me anything...

However, she had this funny "Hello" as she walked past me... It sounded quite "sincere" or something... Like she.... I don't know...
But, my foreman's been asking how my dad is and even refered to OUR old house as "yer dad's place" when it was Sold. Someone also actually asked me if I was alright, when, usually, she'd just say "Hi" or "Alright". And the way Kelly looked at me... It's gotten me suspicious that my boss may've said something - or, perhaps, that my dad even said something while he was dropping of his work....

He, however, has said nothing.

I think its so you can't keep taking your test constantly until you fluke a pass.
Never mind, you'll just have to get through the old fashioned way ;^D

It sounds like you're getting closer every time though. I'm sure you can do it this time!

Ah, wouldn't it be nice if women made the first move more often.
Unfortunately it very rarely happens, however modern we all think we are.

If anything's ever going to happen, you'll need to make the first move.

At timber yards, like where you work, do they normally stock musical instrument - grade wood?
What about simple nice quality, but not that fancy, grade wood?

At least work's going well, though. Due to our short-staffedness (...), I'm, basically, required to work as-much-as-possible during the week, ontop of my weekends. And, this week, it means ``3 Days of Kelly´´, with Thursday and Friday adding to yesterday. :D

I've felt all these thing for her, now, for the best-part of 7-months (if not a little more...). There's definitley something there, though. Trouble is, being the kind of person I am, I think I'm really "expecting" or 'waiting' for her to do something first, when, infact, despite what she does in her job, we aren't really all that-different.

Working in an office, on the phones all the time... You wouldn't think of her as a rather "quiet and reserved" person, would you.
Maybe that's what I'm attracted to? Perhaps it's what I've 'seen'?
"Experts" have always said we look for qualities of our own in the prefect mate, you know.

We still haven't really spoken since the Christmas Party, but I've really awoken to see new "visions" and "ambitions" in her since then - she doesn't even have to SAY anything. I could be completely wrong about it all, but the way she often stares me right in the eyes and everything...

If only this "Driving Test - FAILED AGAIN!" wasn't standing in my way (from my point of view, anyway), I'd have probably had the courage to say and do something more, by now (with a Passing Certificate).

If I get the chance, I could always invite her down to my way on Saturday night, since my mate's finally having his 18th Party - 3-weeks-later!

I may sound obsessed with her, but I'm starting to get rather "obsessed" with myself, too. No, NOT like that!! I mean, my opinions of my appearence, myself and how I look have now changed - and, because of how "subtley different" I'm acting in public, I've been getting a fair-few looks around college, and even from daughters of customers at work (so what if they're only 16?!)! ;D

Bah. I've even got this stupid thing I've started doing with my mouth gives me a mouth like Anthony Kieides from the Chili Peppers (you know, where it, sort of, "hangs-down") - just because it brings out my "sexy" chin! ;S :o ;)

GAH! Next thing you know, I'll be all nonced-up in FCUK t-shirts and faded jeans like all those 16-year-old "Spice Boys" you see around...! :S

So, the operation went alright, then? Good to hear it! :)

What's a few weeks on crutches when you could've lost a leg, eh! :D

This news of the Driving Examiners joining some of the DVLA going on-strike has really P'd me off this week already. If it's more money they're after, it's no wonder that cow was so miserable - and no wonder I failed for doing so-well and nothing wrong; another £40 for Test #4 will clearly go a long way (...yes, around "the equator" and into her back-pocket!! :P )!

What's more, though, is that my current test (booked for 7th April) is likely to be pushed-back even further; depending on how-long this OVER-payed whingers last!

Better yet, I REALLY wish my last test was to have come a week later (this week). With examiners striking, if you don't get your £40 back, you at least get some Muppet of a stand-in to come along and observe your driving skills, anyway - would one of them have failed me for nothing???

Cancellations are just a waste of time, really. With all the phone-calls you make, and all the good-luck you (well, `I´) never have, you're practicaly spending another test-fee on wasted time.
In the 7-days since I last failed, there've been 2. However, one was for the day-after (Wednesday) and one was for this Monday (yesterday) - both, within the 10-day post-failure waiting period.

Does anyone actually know WHY you now have to wait 10 days?
