'Our' acheivements. Sorry, no. What have you done you sad little journalist? Have you won any olympic medals? No. You have sat on your ar*e all day getting upset that athletes that happen to be from the same vague geographical location as you can't beat some other people at some sport or other. So stop saying it detracts from 'our' achievements. 'We' as a country don't win medals, individuals or small teams of indidviduals do. Then we, the rest of the nation get to pat our own backs because someone else achieved something. Yay. We're obviously so great.
Sorry, Daily Mail articles are often enough to make me want to kill someone, especially as they almost always manage to slip something in about immigrants or national 'pride'.
;)
US Dream Team lost to Lithuania I think. US Women's won though.
Remember Sols, our very own Royal Family (TM), has heritage from Germany. You know, the country we fought in WW1 and 2.The disgrace!

Hmm. I can't help but feel slightly uncomfortable reading that. But then again nobody considers Greg Rusedski British, and it's just funny :^)
But if Holmes and Khan were both born in Britain (they were weren't they?), and consider themselves British, what more do you need?
Everyone has an 'international' element somewhere in their heritage, and really nationalism is a hollow hoax of a concept, predominantly invented and used to manipulate peoples' alegiances, anyway.
What actually happened in the least half of the olympics? (I was on holiday, with no tv or english news).
Did Khan win the gold in the end? And did the US basketball team come good in the end?
Hmmmmm.
Ignore this.

Yeah. If you really think back, if the 50s and 60s never happened, it's likely that America would hardly win a single medal at the athletics. Or Uk, for that matter.
But if you're having those thoughts, just think of the sea... rowing, sailing....

The beach thing is worth going to.. Wario Ware, Pikmin 2, Animal Crossing and Donkey Konga are all fun to play.. also a couple of new GBA titles like Fire Red/Leaf Green. Worth a visit.
That name's appearing in every place, all over the place, again...
Ms.Holmes. The one who won Gold for our country. The one who did all that stuff to represent us in the Closing Ceremony.
And now, I ready the Beckham's may now be "inspired" to name their coming child `Kelly´ after all she's done in the last two weeks... :S
(Where's the `Jonny´ from last year!?)
Isn't it funny, thoug, how 2 of our greatest from the Olympics - Holmes and Khan - might not actually be considered all that "British", when you look at them and think about it... Sorry!
What has our country come to, with a Swedish manager in-charge doing - and getting payed! - whatever the hell he feels like?!
And, as I Xchanged my money, my bank account barely suffered a loss of £45 for the lot of them!! :O ;)
Metal Arms is a brilliant little game. Reminds me a bit of Jet Force Gemini, and also of the forthcoming 'StarFox 2' game, from what I've seen on the NGC DVD.
I hate spending money like this... And yet, while I still don't even have the time to play Resident Evil or Turok: Evolution (which I bought MONTHS ago!), I still want more! At least I've played XIII - and liked it! - though. :)
Also from flicking through NGC recently, I notice the Donkey Konga-tour-thing will be making its way here to Bristol tommorow...
If I could be bothered to go shopping tomorrow like I had originaly intended to, rather than put it off 'til Friday, there's a good chance I'd probably see some of the NGC team there - and DONKEY KONG! - since this isn't going to Bath... But, "meh"! :P
