Yup they were once.

After a lot of bitching and moaning though it was changed because people couldn't log on until after six (remember the old it's free after six internet deals that were about) so it changed. Plus there's far too many posts to read through nowadays.

There's a little piece of SR history you may or may not have known. :)

Ah, filmaday.. never really seemed to work did it? Guess that's why they shuffled it into the back of the stationary cupboard, along with that car they've been 'giving away' as a prize in a 20 year long competition.

Did they ever give that to anyone? Or is it still in tony's garage? :O)

Back in the old days, when there was only 1 gad (and still a long time before the second was introduced), sr used to pick it at the end of their working day, around 6pm.

Then people started complaining that anything posted that evening wouldn't stand a chance of winning, so they started picking winners the next day.

I get the impression they don't always do it the next day, probably have to move it about a bit if they're busy. Plus stuff posted around the weekends will have to wait at least until monday.

That's my understanding of the situation.
Then again, i'm no gad expert - i think i'd need 3 times as many wins just to make the top 30 hall of fame. And i might be blacklisted. Or just paraniod. Long story. I'll shut up now :O)

Posts... think I only won for a review once... I won for my very first review, don't think I won since... Actually, I did win for a CD review, but that was posted as a topic in the music forum... and it was under the old rules, so I won a film a day not game a day... wo I got a DVD despite me not having a DVD player... ooh, I also won for a film review, but same story as above, film a day prize rather than game a day...

Nice. You don't get a real sense of scale when you see those things on tv. I expect you still don't from photos either.. but it has to be closer.

Of course, i'll have to see them all over again soon - my sister's on holiday in egypt right now. Then again, knowing her, all the pictures will be of beaches and bars :O)
Actually, that's a bit harsh, but she was going more to kick back than see anything.
Why can't i get a rich boyfriend too? ;O)
