Basically, with serious posts I think they have to be original in that they need to include ideas that haven't been touched upon before (or put a new spin on an old idea/argument). Funny posts just need to be funny I assume... spoofs of films/games etc. are probably the easiest place for inspiration, but it might be better to come up with original ideas for a funny topic too. Anyway...
Hoho.
*notices talk about GAD*
Bah, im not even going to try anymore...... and ive still got 2 GAD's to claim.
*wonders off*

lol, fair enough.
I guess it's just a matter of waiting before you get that spark of innovation and write a cracker of a topic/review, in the meantime we'll have settle for spoofs and other topics far too high-brow for such a place...

Original posts are getting rare, but when they come along and strike the right balance between interesting and humorous, they are almost certain to win. I one 3 times last year, with my last win about august time. Since then i never won. Not because the topics werent original, but because i wrote them like i had a stick up my @rse. When i won again i think it was maybe the end of last month, i think it was because whilst my topic was relativley original i also included a few jokes. Having a bit of a laugh is the key to having an entertaining post.
guess 'difficulty' just depends on which comes easiest to you.
then again, with a spectacular 4 wins, i can't claim to be an expert :O)

But isn't that the same for posts? I know SR says that to win a GAD your post should be original but most GAD attempts are either too serious i.e. not funny then, or are joke topics; which are fair enough but some really do stink.
There is no such thing as an original post anymore, it became extinct, hunted to death by the monster we know as a 'Spoof'
And another thing, £25 as a win for a walkthrough GAD is a bit of a rip considering it can take more effort then post's and reviews but then again, you can copy walkthroughs but you have to mention that they arn't your's, as far as I understand; more of a customer service thing that though...
