Thought I'd start this subject to see how people are getting on with GTA3 :-) Cause theres so much freedom in the game I've been wondering if anyone has pulled off any impressive ways of doing certain missions or had things cool that have happened while being chased around by the law.
I won't use the characters names and spoil the story for anyone who is looking forward to the game, but I think one of my best moments has to be the assassination outside the strip club in portland ;-) Had to avoid being seen by the guys bodyguards so i hid round the corner with grenade in hand. Of course timing was everything, the limo pulled up and the bodyguards started walking out and standing between the club entrance and the car. Dunno if its just me but i got a real adrenalin rush from it, the guards were heavily armed so screwing up would have ended with me wasted ;-)) Then out came my target, i waited right till he was half in the car then i flew out from round the corner and lobbed a grenade which killed half the guards and damaged the car, by this time other cars were all packed in the street, i threw another grenade which blew up 2 cars and set off a chain reaction of exploding cars which took the last of the guards, the limo and target and a bunch of civilians with it ! I then grabbed myself a taxi and got away ;-))
Another moment was during a chase in staunton island, I had police chasing me in a sports car, i turned into an area (right near the first employer you get in this area) where there were crates and stuff - and a nice inviting ramp for a jump ;-) I took the jump with the police car close behind - when it went to the outside view you could actually see the cop car right behind me :-) as soon as i landed i slammed on the brakes and just avoided going straight into the water, as i did this the police car, going fall speed has started to land on the rear of my car, gone straight over me and off the edge into the water ;-)) Got a nice cash boost for that !
Last one that comes to mind has to be the jump off the multi-storey car park ;-)

Has anyone else found it annoying to get around Staunton Island ? Its like you wanna go back into Portland but you can never find the stupid bridge or tunnel that goes back there without driving around most of the damn place ! Another thing that gets me is when you first arrive, you have the Pay n Spray and the Ammu-Nation shops on the map, but once you start doing missions they're gone off the map ! Argh ! Can be so annoying when your desperately trying to reach Pay n Spray with FBI and Swat teams all after you but you can't find the place when you need it. If only they could keep them on the map ! I mean the map that comes with the game is all nice and good, but I'd like to see someone look to it for directions while their car is being rammed by FBI, Swat and Cops with a Helicopter flying over too !
Anyway, anyone enjoyed Sniping people off the top of the multi-storey car park or Kenji's Casino ? ;-))
Any favourite radio stations ? Have to say mine are Chatterbox (listen to the convos on the audio options - so hilarious!) and Flashback FM. Nothing like flying off the top of that multi-storey car park in your car straight into a car chase with the police after you while the soundtrack "Push It To The Limit" plays on your radio ;-))

Being chased by the FBI for the first time was pritty cool as i didnt even know they were in the game!
The beauty of GTA3 is that you can do it any way you want. For example, you have to kill Salvetore. My two favourite ways are to either:
Park a massive truck outside Sex Club Seven, blocking his exit, then blow it up.
Or, park a REALLY big truck outside the entrance to his mansion, then blow that up. It's great fun!

I reckon those Sony people have got together with the GTA3 people and told them to stall release dates on other platforms to make everyone get PS2s! BUT I WILL RESIST... hopefully...
