It's more complex than most modern games.
Fire Pro Wrestling is a 2D wrestling game, yet it is the best wrestling game... EVER!
However, this Ikaruga or whatever its called looks crap. I dont mean the graphics. I mean the whole aspect. Shoot shoot bang bang flip over ooo white and black shoot shoot.

R-Type is crap but Ikaruga is brilliant.

Mario 3 was the best Mario, teh 2D Soncis beat the 3D versions hands down. Pac-man was excellent, as were 2D space shooters such as Gradius. Oh, and Super Metroid was better. Not many 3D games are actually better thantheir 2D counterparts.

I liked Gradius, I've never played R-Type, I like these games. That's why I want it.

If they wanted to escape the real world and the 3Dness of it as well. Possibly appealing to fat people, or fat cats.
