I was at my local computer store yesterday, just looking around, and this child aged 10-12 walks in, with his mum, and askes for GTA3, his mum buys it for him without even checking what the content is. I think parents should be more careful about the material they show their children (especially the hooker thingo in GTA3). I'm not saying the game is evil or anything, but parents should monitor what their child plays, considering he was at least 6 years too young. Any comments?

Well, with games getting ever more realistic, should censorship become enforced more strongly. After all, within about 5 years games will reach a detail level on par with films... just imagine a Resident Evil game on the next-next-generation consoles!

Ok, so I doubt that anyone will go and kill somebody because they saw it in a game, but this is also true of films, and no one complains about them being censored... probably because it's seen to be sensible!

You views?

How do you know the game was for the boy, huh?

You are assuming it was for him.

exactomo. The shops don't care, as long as they get the money. I wonder if the BBFC realise all the money they're spending goes right down the drain, as most people don't care about the rating? Hmm the ELSPA ratings are worse, in a little box on the back of the case, how many ppl look there?

The games shops don't care, even if no parent is present. I bought a multi pack of Command and Conquer, red alert, and all the addons, without realising it was an 18, and the shop said nothing!
