I was at my local computer store yesterday, just looking around, and this child aged 10-12 walks in, with his mum, and askes for GTA3, his mum buys it for him without even checking what the content is. I think parents should be more careful about the material they show their children (especially the hooker thingo in GTA3). I'm not saying the game is evil or anything, but parents should monitor what their child plays, considering he was at least 6 years too young. Any comments?

I'd consider myself mature, you know. I can ply a violent game like GTA3 for example, and not be influenced by it. It's the same with films.

I can't why in gaming there should be cerftificates for 18's. For the viewing public, when watching a game you don't feel you have to go out and do it in real life. Most people can play on GTA and not feel the urge to steal cars or murder people and you can go without playing MGS then going to snap someones neck.

If you're over 15 then you are mature enough to be able to handle the content of it.

In my opinion there's nothing wrong with getting an 18 if you're fifteen ( I've got Perfect Dark and CBFD and I'm 15) but if you're not even a teenager and asking Parents to go get 15s or 18s I think the parent should be wary and at least check the game out first. But the problem is many games which should be rated aren't.
