The game forums are closing, so i am moving the popular FF forum here. No spamming, just 100% FF. Let's start with a question.... which of the FFs is the best?

The snow fields are my least favorite part in FF VII. I just found then annoying. Each section looks similar and so I got lost, a lot. So yes it does indeed get better from there.

The snow bit is very annoying, and very confusing.
You can get Alexander materia there (he rules, by the by) but I can't remember how exactly. And after you're out of the snow there's a button-bashing bit where you've got to keep your temperature up.

I love remembering FF stuff.

Oh, there'll be better bits. Some parts of the game are a bit of a pain (ie the bit you're on now) but you just have to trudge through them and come out of the other side.

I think you've got a two-headed boss coming up, so that's something to look forward to. Unless you're already past that, in which case I look silly.

All this talk of FF7 makes me want to go further, but another side says you can't be bothered. I was in a big maze of snowy bits after the snowboarding on disc 2.

Does it get better or worse from there?

Might need to move the Final fantasy forum to fog after the gamecube release of the series.

I never did Emerald WITH the underwater materia. Never bothered with it.

And Asher, you're missing a treat, really.

I didn't get very far in FF7 at all. I remember getting as far as the boat to Costa Del Sol, then I gave up. It was too hard trying to get into the game during my PS2 days, because it looked so shoddy, even for a PSone game.

I smacked Emerald down without underwater materia no problem. Thought that I might run out of time but I had about 2 mins left I think. Plus the timer doesn't look like it counts down in real seconds, it looks a little slower.

I've never even tried to beat Emerald without the underwater materia.
Sounds like a challenge ....

Which is why, in my opinion, it has the best battle system. You can do all kinds of crazy shiznit with it, and some really killer moves. I've seen a walkthrough on how to beat Emerald without ever touching the control pad. Now that's cool.

But Emerald is a timed battle (unless you have underwater materia), so it would give you more time if you didn't have to view the full movie each time.

Probably game over. It usually is. :)
