I got a big box in the post yesterday which had an official Drummania controller + game, and a Guitar Freaks controller in it. Woohoo! (of course I got stung by customs for VAT at £22)
To be honest I never even got as far as opening the drumkit last night - I stuck on Guitar Freaks and that was me set for the rest of the evening. Quality stuff! My pinkie finger is feeling the after effects today though.
Tonight I'll break out the drumkit for a bit of practice, and when my pals come round tomorrow we can try out the guitar/drum combo mode in Drummania. Gotta love it.

I played guitar freaks on a PS1 with a serial port and a cheat cartridge. The cartridge allows you to boot from a PAL game and also to put in a code that beats the no-swap protection. It's also very useful for the DDR games in terms of sorting out the speed problem you get when playing on a PAL console :-)
I already know Drummania is going to be my favourite, I absolutely love the really challenging games.

Guitar Freaks is the greatest game ever in my opinion. It's the only game I have consistantly played for the last 2 years.
I've just got to grips with the expert songs now - except Hypnotica which is Crazy-Hard.
There are some great songs to unlock too. Evil Eye being the best.
Just out of interest, because GF has mod-chip detection, how did you go about getting it to work on your PS2? Or do you play it on a stealth chipped PS1?
I've just ordered Gitadora (GF 4th and DM 3rd Mix) - Can't wait to get it. I'll put a note in this thread with my comments now I know there's at least one other person in the UK who's into this stuff!
When you get round to playing Drummania, tell me what you reckon. I think it's a bit poor compared to GF. Not to mention rock hard. Maybe with a bit of practice it will become better - but you definately have to turn the BGM and guitar sounds down in the options to even hear the effect of the drums. Also turning off the bassdrum allows you to concentrate on the pads more.
