I got a big box in the post yesterday which had an official Drummania controller + game, and a Guitar Freaks controller in it. Woohoo! (of course I got stung by customs for VAT at £22)

To be honest I never even got as far as opening the drumkit last night - I stuck on Guitar Freaks and that was me set for the rest of the evening. Quality stuff! My pinkie finger is feeling the after effects today though.

Tonight I'll break out the drumkit for a bit of practice, and when my pals come round tomorrow we can try out the guitar/drum combo mode in Drummania. Gotta love it.

Cheers guys ^_^

Checking with my Japanese contact, see if he can get it for me. If not, I may have to get it from Toys n' Joys.

Actually - just checked and the kit works out at 30.25 pounds - just over 30 quid.

Yeah I got mine from toys n joys.
I got the 3rd party drumkit - very reasonable at 50 dollars - under 30 quid. was only a few quid postage from Honalulu too! Took a couple of weeks to come through.
Of course, this doesn't come with the drummania game, but as luck would have it, I've got 2 copies! Originals by the way. You can have one of mine for the price I paid for it - 30 quid.
Here's the link for the drumkit -

Let me know if you're intersted in buying the game off me.

I had a request in with a Hong Kong supplier, they notified me as soon as they had one available but I was waiting a long time.

If you really want one, they have a set at www.toysnjoys.com (not sure of the exact URL, they have a specific Bemani page) but that company is pricey at the best of times.

There are 3rd party versions but I won't vouch for the quality, and the game won't be included.

Where did you pick up Drummania and the official controller mate?

I *need* to play this. :)

The last part of 'Onion Man' is so cool, the cymbal/alternating snare & kick drum combo. I have real trouble with it though, it's like trying to pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time ;-)

I always want to keep beat with my foot, I can't adjust to doing it with the cymbal.

I guess i just need to persevere a bit longer with the harder songs on drummania. Using the practice option is definately the only way to pick up on some of those harder patterns. It just seems like a very steep learning curve with nowhere near enough tutorial to get you feeling comfortable first.

I can't wait for my copy of gitadora to come through (1-2 weeks). I can't get enough of guitar freaks.

Tellah asked me to post again once I'd tried it out, I'm not talking to myself (well maybe I am...)

Ever get the feeling you're talking to yourself?

:D

Samba de Amigo did rock though when you played it with the Marracas, don't think i'd want to pay for it though, cost about £100.

Oh yeah!! Drummania all the way for me! Guitar Freaks is ace but I spent much longer mucking about on the drums. The pads are smaller than I anticipated and it's probably not very similar to real drumming, but I had such a laugh.

There are only 2 songs I can finish every time, and a couple more I have scraped through. I actually spent most time in practice, just trying to master certain portions of the songs and messing around. I love it!!!

I had a mammoth music game sesh last night - did Guitar Freaks, Drummania, Samba de Amigo and Gitaroo Man. Today I'll probably do DDR Max ;-)
