Well, then; you may be interested in this...
The following taken from Sunday's Mirror, on how PC gaming could be made a lot cheaper, thanks to the release of a PC Gaming console:
"Personal Comupter aren't meant to be used for games.
You're expected to hit, shake and swear at them, but not to play serious games with them."
"Nevertheless, since the first days of the PC, owners have ignored the many spreadsheet packages pushed on them in favour of flight-sims and shoot-'em-ups."
"Now, some of the best games out there - Quake, Half-Life, The Sims - are on PC. But if games are all you care about, who wants to pay a grand for a machine to play them on?"
"Which brings us to 'DISCover', the world's first PC Games console. With a Pentium III 2Ghz proccesor and a 40-gig hard drive, it can play every single high-end PC game - on your telly. Basic models will be out by the end of the year for about £200, with higher-spec. consoles likely to sell about £450."

Whichever way you look at this, it's got to be a good thing!
Think of the money you could save!!
(And you could probably make a fair-bit, too, selling on your old PCs to people who REALLY need them).
No doubt, you'll be able to play on-line, eventually, and you'll probably be able to run programs like Microsoft World and that on it, somehow, too.
I was thinking of getting an X-Box for Championship Manager, as our chances of getting a new PC seem very-slim... But now, that idea may have to wait!
When your current PC comes to an 'end' which will you buy:
Another £1,200 computer, or the DISCover??
> and have a decent graphics card.
But as has already been pointed out, will be soon out of date, and is non upgradable.
> If you want to play PC games then get a PC.
My thoughts exactly.
And what about the picture where it shows that ugly looking gamepad? Hows anyone going to play their first person shooters on that thing? No doubt they'll ship with the gamepad, then later allow a mouse and keyboard combo for 'only an extra £20' or something.

So if DISCover is going to cost £450, but the Xbox is only £130, it does not make sense.
If PC game makers want to make games appeal to a wider audience they should do console versions.
I would rather just stick to my PC.
