Could you tell me the name of the cables I need, or a link to the page.
Thanks for the help.
You should be able to get a CAT5 cable upto 100m without the need for a break.

As far as I'm concerned my mam will buy me these:
----------------------------------------------------
Cat 5 Patch Cable 10M Grey asy x 2
CAT5 cross-over cable
NIC - still I am not sure if I need 2 (please clarify)
----------------------------------------------------
I've got the Adapter and TMB Online coming. I'm using ICS hopefully, because:

Internet Sharing Connection using USB-based modems
Connect your USB-based broadband modem to your computer via the USB port, as per the standard set up instructions. (point 1)
Install a network interface card (or NIC) in your computer, if you don't have one installed already. (point 2)
Using a crossover network cable, connect your PlayStation 2's Network Adaptor to your computer's network interface card. (point 3)
Set up Windows' Internet Connection Sharing application. This will allow you to share your existing Internet connection with your PlayStation 2. (point 4)
----------------------------------------------------
Reasons/explanations:-
Point 1: I have a USB based broadband, so clear point one.
Point 2: I stated above that my mam will buy the NIC.
Point 3: PROBLEM! Do I connect the Crossover cable thingy to the extensions, then put the extensions in the ps2 adapter?
Point 4: I'll try but I'll be back to give you the results.
----------------------------------------------------
I have took the instructions above from the guides.
I've tried to tell Col exactly how I connect but I think he's so confused now he's going to go out and buy a lot of kit he doesn't need.
> simply because I use a router/ethernet network so that's the only system I can give advice on.
Exactly the same as myself at home, just answered Col as best I could with the knowledge I've got about networks. Seeing as Col was losing his rag a bit just thought I'd help with getting some info that may help you or me answer him better.

Col, the above statement was what I was refering to, I was worried that if you didnt have ADSL you'd be in for a even more expensive online experience as the dialup costs will be additional.
If you've got ADSL then a router would be the easiest method and you'll need a straight through CAT5 Cable.
Not sure whether the PS2 Adapter is released with a cable converter? FM is the best to answer that.
Think you'll find Sony are probably more qualified to answer that. Basically if any 'getting connected' query on the beta forums had ADSL/USB or ICS in it I avoided it like the plague, simply because I use a router/ethernet network so that's the only system I can give advice on.
Everything else is in the Guides on uk.playstation.com. It's just that it seems a lot of people can't be bothered to take time out to read them properly. I'm gonna bump my "I'm not going to help anymore read the Guides post"...

So I don;t need a out port on my ADSL modem if I use that method.
In one of the guides it says that the computer may slow it down if you use ICS, thats why I gave my com details.
