Seriously though, I think this is a joke... They give you 20 new cars, a few more tracks and take away the games 2 most popular modes!
What a rip-off!
Nintendo Rule!
Game
Just off the top of my head. :-)
We were expecting GT3 b-spec, kind of an add on disc with more cars and extra bits so thats basically the same thing ;-)
It's not an update, but a one-off package with a specific purpose. The fact that the public may be able to buy it is a bonus. There are a lot of gimmicks used at these types of show, which the public love but can't get hold of on general sale.
Good idea, I reckon. I probably wouldn't buy it personally, but it's nice for those the want to.
Hence "Dave Z"
> Ha, this is pathetic... and NO-ONE can support such a blatant money grabbing Idea...

Ok Fool... did you actually read the article? I think not!! This version of thae game has been made to show off the concept cars being displayed at the Tokyo Motorshow!! Polyphony have decided to release this as an "add-on" to the Jap version of the game at a low cost and possible due tot he fact that they have the HD to support it!!
There is a chance it will reach the UK/US but only if enough interest is shown.
The Gran Turismo series has always been about driving cars you could never get anywhere near in real life, and its developer is taking that idea a step further with Gran Turismo Concept, a special sort of one-off Gran Turismo gamelet featuring a small garage of famous modern concept cars. It's only coming to Japan as yet (on New Year's Day, at the bargain price of 3200 yen),
Gran Turismo Concept was debuted at the fall 2001 Tokyo Motor Show, and most of its cars were concepts exhibited there.
GT Concept obviously doesn't pack all this fun on top of the complete GT3 package -- the low price is proof of that. It will feature just the concept cars, and apparently a more limited selection of tracks as well (possibly just five -- the screens shown so far feature Tokyo, Midfield, and several scenes too closely focused to give away the track). Thus, this is more of a fans-only production than something aimed at the wide audience that has embraced Gran Turismo worldwide. It should do remarkably well for all that, though, considering the main source of GT's appeal -- more than the superior driving, it's about the superior cars. We will, of course, do our best to bring you all the goods on GT Concept in the very near future, in the tradition of our stupidly deep GT coverage in the past. Dave Z would demand no less, after all.
But it's no worse than what EA do with there licenses.
Sony won't expect everyone to rush out and buy this slight update, but it makes good business sense to have a game out there with the latest cars in it.
I just don't think it's worth it...
