"We need a website"

Right. The web design forum here needs a website, for posting all sorts of advice, links, news etc. A "community" website. It should be interactive and fully display the best of our skills. So:

Coding - Me, cjh and ajh. Basically anyone who can.

Site design and layout - Reaper and Tyla. You guys work together on it. Give me a final layout as a Fireworks file and I'll take it from there

Content - Andy/Bob, and everyone else here

We need some webspace, I'll get some at Freedom2Surf once their servers come back online. They're a very good server for what we want to do. If anyone else wants to help out, that's great.

Any more suggestions would be welcome.

No, its due to me fecking it up. When it was on the old server I had it sym linked to a seperate hard drive and so it don't work any more. it will only take a few mins to fix.

Andy, is mrhunt.co.uk down due to the Freeola update?

OK, this is off the record as my senior manager is'nt here for me to check if this is OK. I say we put up the site on Freeola and link to a MySQL host (there was one that gave free mysql for any site although I carn't remember the name) If no one can find a domain then you can use mine (mrhunt.co.uk). I will be able to help on desgin from home along with content.

Do you reckon some lovely nice fantastic manufacturers would donate some lovely goodies for us to review??? :)

It doesn't all have to be about information on different aspects of web pages/hardware, we could also put some fun stuff on the web page as well. I've been looking at how to make games in flash but I'm sure there are some people who can or have made games in the past.

Turbonutter, if you need anyone to create banners or any help with the designing I would be happy to help.

That is true, but if only a small number of people design the basic layout of the website. Then the rest of us could help out by doing other stuff, like once the basic website is up, they could manage the webpages with reviews in it, or edit anybody reviews if they break any of the rules, like swearing etc.

Some more of us could help to moderator the message board, as there might b different sections.

Another group of people could search for different bits of software that people might like on the website, and expalin how to install it on to Freeola with ease. etc
