The highest time predictably wins, although it doesnt mention what the prizes will be. Video evidence will be accepted ONLY.
I dont have MK64 so ive been playing SMK, so far my best time is 1:15:53.
Hop to it. I need competition.
When you are ahead of everyone else they suddenly spedd up and take you on the line. I used to curse at this but it was quickly forgiven as I started the next race.
The modern equivalent of AI boosts can be founds in NBA Street 2. When you go up by 5 or more points the computer suddenly steals every ball away from you until they are back on level :( Once again the gameplay is of a genius level and I can forgive it.

Their acceleration is sooo much better than yours and they can jump their own obstacles, even bowsers fireballs. Oh, and the go around corners at full whack without skidding.
Even if it looks pants and the computer cheats.

I find that the ROM plays differently as well, you can get away with accelerating almost straight after the first beep to get the turbo start. And ive managed to jump across to the shortcut about 4 times more often than when playing on the actual console.

I uncovered that about a week ago, but to be honest i dont believe him. He doesnt have the run on his proof of times page. The current verifiable record is 1'04"XX set by a frenchman called archibald. He takes the shortcut on every lap, which to be honest is bloody impossible. Still i persist.
Good luck time triallers.
Ghost Valley 1 - 1'02"70 D.K.Jr
Best Lap - 0'12"24 D.K.Jr
Set by a chap called Sam a few years ago.
I get the feeling the NGC boys are specialists on this track, must admit I have never paid it much attention in the past.
DK Jr seems the way to go, you were right.
Wonder when the competiton closes, there is no mention of a closing date (unless they are planning on putting it in next months mag)
