I remember reading an article a while back saying just how useful those USB ports are, they allow lots of devices to be connected such as mice, keyboards, modems, cameras, steering wheels,g-cons and of course CONTROLLERS.
The article then went on about how EASY it would be to have the dual shock linked through the USB port, so think about it 2 standard controllers as normal then 2 USB controllers plugged in the USB ports, bingo, hey presto we've hit the jackpot, wayhey, woohoo you get the picture,no more multitap.
Of course the game would have to support it but are Sony just cashing in on the multitap or don't they have any sense?

If you're playing with mates then get them to bring round their own controllers.
Most of my mates have got dual shock pads, so thats all we do.
I might take a pad and my multi-tap round to a mates house and another mate might bring another pad round.
If you want to play with family though or mates who don't have pads you're pretty much bu**d (can i say that??)

Fireport hub? fireware hub?, something like that, i have a multitap, and i agree they are pricey, i got mine last year and it cost £30, luckily i had some spare cash, but i only have two controllers because at £20 each i would be spending another £40, its worth it for footy games and shooters but its still very expensive, maybe they should have had 4 ports, because it seems not many games have four player modes with should have, for example red faction, i think developers only make use for the two ports and not the multitap, maybe four ports for the next console sony?
