I'm the only one who actually predicted Cameroon could win this cup
although England are my favored team :)

Second Round Match A

Mexico (KR) Vs France (Sdrawkcab)

This is the start of the newly dubbed “Report Phase” (The Second Round). From now on, all of the games will be reported, there’ll be 4 games this week and next (No game Thursdays)

1st Half

Mexico Kick off

France put on the early pressure forcing the keeper to make the first save of the match where he could only parry out a Zidane shot from the edge of the box.

Zidane wriggled his way through the Mexican defence only to see his shot piddle a good foot wide.

France have maintained a majority of possession but they cant seem to be able to convert them into goals

Ooooh, a Mexico counter attack was cruele ended with a dodgy offside decision, had that not of been the case, the striker would’ve been 1 on 1 with the keeper.

Half Time

Badgerman’s Half Time Thought
Even though this is seemingly a 1 sided contest, France haven’t been able to take advantage of their possession, France have had 8 shots to Mexico’s 0, but France haven’t had a single shot on target

2nd Half

France kick off.

France go forward straight away, Henry finds some space on the edge of the box, fired in…but it hits the keepers legs and bounces clear

Mexico seem to be pushing up a bit more now with France taking their foot off of the throttle

Henry’s been caught offside twice within as many minutes.

Mexico’s first shot of the game has occurred 68 minutes into the game as it floated wide of the goal.

70 minutes gone

Mexico are pushing people forward now as the possession starts to even out.

A hard challenge on Zidane gives Mexico possession of the ball, the balls crossed into the box… cleared for a corner.

The corner is whipped in by Blanco…but it’s cleared

Mexico have a free kick just outside the centre circle, it’s pumped forward…controlled by the attacker who takes it towards the byline…he cuts it back into the box… Diving Header… Straight at the keeper! unlucky Mexico!

Full Time

Badgerman’s Pre- Extra-Time thought
Well Mexico have certainly come out fired for that half, but so far my record is 2 Reports, 2 Gone into Extra Time. Hmmm…

1st Half of Extra Time

Mexico kick off.

Has been a quiet half with both teams playing defensively

Mexico push forward, a clever through ball leaves him 1 on 1, he dinks it over the keeper… JUST WIDE! Unlucky, that was so close for a Mexico win!

Mexico have a throw in, Blanco turns and crosses it…headed down.. ON THE VOLLEY! OFF THE POST AND WIDE!

Half Time

2nd Half in Extra Time

France have a corner, pumped in, deflected of a French back… HEADED BY CISSE… CROSSBAR!

Mexico have a free kick right on the corner flag, crossed in… FREE HEADER FOR BLANCO… GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MEXICO WIN IN EXTRA TIME 118 MINS GONE!

Badgerman’s Full Time Thought
Ho Ho, another upset which sees France upset by Mexico, fantastic game to watch (:P) and in the end, Mexico deserved it.
