Final Fantasy X uses it and Japan and got it round about the same time it was released but what about the modem?
Alot of games can go online now so why don't they get their act together and release it :-(
It got me thinking the other day, what will you be able to do with them both?

Instead, they will fail because 99% of gamers are the "casual" type... they buy a console, see games they like, buy them and play. That's the whole point of them buying a console! So that you can play games without worrying about all the extra configuartion- it's easy, cheap and simple.
The HDD removes all these pros, and thus will not be bought by many gamers. Therefore, few games will support it. Which means less games will buy it....
I think the best way to sum up console add ons is this: "If it ain't in the box already, then people won't buy it". The Mega Cd, 32X, Jaguar CD and every other add on has failed dismally. The only excpetion was the N64 expasion pack... but this was cleverly included in deals on games- the HDD and modem are simply too expensive to sell like this!
Check out this months OPSM2 for more info.
Telewest is said to be in talks about providing broadband access for the PS2.
The HDD is defantely going to be a 40Gb capacity.
Both are set for a release next year, but not finalised yet, they said it would co-inside with the release of FFX.
They also say that SCEE is in talking with Vodafone for PS2 friendly mobile phones.
