Right, Indy Car is out, and Sony's new F1 title is out in a few days. I feel like I want a track racer, but I have seen no reviews for either (Didn't know F1 was out til yesterday). Anyway, I want F1 as I like the Sony series, but I wondered what the damage is like? Also, is it like any old F1 game? I also wanted Indy Race League as the crashes look mental, it is meant to have really sound handling, yet all the tracks are ovals. Does anyone (Mainly you, Darwock) have any info/reviews/personal opinions on the game, to help me out whether to buy either of them. Thank you muchly.

Are you saying that Grand Prix Challenge was the best by far, or the worst by far? I hope it's the latter, because I rememeber buying that game for a full blown £40, and it wasn't even worth platinum price.

Of the three F1 contenders last year I would put them in this order:

1. Grand Prix Challenge
-
- (big gap)
-
2. EA F1 2002
3. Sony F1 2002

EA's new game is actually out on the 27th of this month (according to uk.playstation.com) - I just hope they have fixed the horrendous frame rate problems this time around. The career mode is a nice idea but if the game is still flawed it's pointless.

ICRL gets average reviews in the States, I guess Formula One 2003 should be the better game and seeing I didn't buy the previous two versions will probably get this one.

Nice to see Sony got the exclusive licence for F1 by the way.

The Aussie Playstation site say it's really really good. Cheak it out. There's a movie too, but I can't get it to work. I always get that with media player. 'Cannot something or other'.

You're right it is coming out. I think this is far too soon. The in-game tracks must all be based on last years configurations, there's guaranteed to be some changes made to the circuits that aren't included. I guess that will only upset the hardcore F1 fans, but then again I'm not sure anyone else would buy an F1 game.

Haven't played Indy Cars myself, but it initially got panned by a lot of people who then gradually grew to like it despite it's flaws. The opposition crashes are supposedly the best feature, and apparently the sense of speed is good. Wouldn't touch it personally, 15 laps of the test track in GT3 put me off oval racers for life :-)

As for Sony's F1 2003, I had no idea this was ready for release either!! Are you sure??? I know EA's final F1 game (career challenge) is due very soon... I'm gonna have to go and look for some more info.
