Right, Indy Car is out, and Sony's new F1 title is out in a few days. I feel like I want a track racer, but I have seen no reviews for either (Didn't know F1 was out til yesterday). Anyway, I want F1 as I like the Sony series, but I wondered what the damage is like? Also, is it like any old F1 game? I also wanted Indy Race League as the crashes look mental, it is meant to have really sound handling, yet all the tracks are ovals. Does anyone (Mainly you, Darwock) have any info/reviews/personal opinions on the game, to help me out whether to buy either of them. Thank you muchly.

In my opinion it has to be F1. Much as NASCAR rednecks bleat on about different characteristics, one oval is much the same as another. In F1 you've got 16/17 distinctive tracks to race on. Given the track history (pun intended) of both Sony and Codemasters, neither game is going to be perfect, so go for the more varied option. (Assuming you are a fan of actual racing and not crashing.)

I just read the first opinions on F1:CC. Two words - utter cr@p. Dodgy frame rate being the biggest gripe again. Oh well. If EA aren't going to bring anything new to the series then they may as well quit. I gave up hope for them after F1 2001.

Icarus, as far as I know EA are licensed for this year, but that's it for them (and everyone else) because Sony then have it until 2007.

Is that why EA released Career Challenge, because they don't have the right to make an update on the latest season changes?

Well now I know you're talking out of your 'behind'. There is not a single dropped frame in GPC. Ever. Handling is weird on analogue sticks, but perfect on d-pad and GT Force.

Anyway, I'm not interested in debating this now. I am annoyed there won't be an updated version now that Sony have dibs on the license though.

Please tell me you're joking. I played the game for an entire season, and the handling was the most absurd ever. And it wasn't far behind F1 2002 (EA) in the frame stuttering stakes either.

I hope the crashes are as good on F1 2003, as they were on F1 2001. The way the cars took of were amazing. Hope they got better damage this time. The Sony games always tend to be just whole parts falling off. So, I decided:

Formula 1 2003?
F1 Career Challenge?
Indy League?
