"KaZaA outlawed?"

Whether or not there is a grain of truth in this, I dont know.

I just heard from a friend that KaZaA (The thing that provides free MP3's and stuff) has being outlawed and if you continue to use it that music giants such as Warner Bros and Sony are going to begin prosecuting people.

Apparently this was on BBC news, which I didn't see today, but surely someone out there did.

So is this true or just a hoax to put people off downloading stuff?

Most people downloading wouldn't have the money to pay the fines though.

This may well be a hoax but if they pay 20 000 people 30 000 each a year to find people downloading songs, thats 600 000 000 they have to pay out, but at 150 per song with 100 as an average user its 15 000 * 20 000 000(people)will make 300 000 000 000.

Conclusion - They make a hell of alot of money.

I never do anything about these sort of warnings. Email virus warnings: yes. Big corporate boogie man coming to get you warnings: no.

I'm always browsing and i find when people download off me it takes ages to load pages so i don't let people take my stuff...

If you unshare your files then they don't know how many you have :D

I have uninstalled my kazaa now - whether they ARE going to prosecute people or not, better safe than sorry.
