After getting dangerously frustrated with red faction last night I decided to cool off with something else, Don't ask me why i kept it but a free disc was given away with the old playstations called demo one. It's packed with playable demos, videos and other cool things.

I put on the porshe challenge demo and i used to own the full game but didn't have the analog controller at the time. The led came on showing that the sticks were supported and then the left one was your steering and the right one was your accelerator/brake, not as sensitive as the dual shock 2 but it's proves a point that Sony did think up the idea WAY before anyone else.

Porsche challenge is made by SCEE and is almost FIVE years old, dreamcast ain't made yet so they couldn't have ripped off the triggers and come to think of it i don't think Nintendo even had their rumble pack out yet, which is another thing this game used.

Nintendo may have been the first to have a directional analog stick but Sony took it one step further.

Actually, Sony didn't come up with the Walkman first. A small company had the idea a little bit before them but Sony sued them and won (not surprisingly) but that's just the way big companies are...

They made the PlayStation so all is forgiven. Go on Sony! Kill all the small companies you want!

MD is a Sony invention, created in 1992. Hasn't really taken off, but I don't really know why; I recently bought an MD recorder for my PC, and player (both Sony, of course!) and it's better than CD in almost every way.

Sony's other contributions to the world of electronics...

1950
"G-Type", Japan's first tape recorder

1955
"TR-55", Japan's first transistor radio

1960
World's first transistor television

1963
World's first transistor, compact size, VCR

1968
"Trinitron" color TV

1971
3/4 inch, U-matic VCR

1975
"Betamax" VCR for home use

1979
"Walkman", the headphone stereo

1982
CD player
"Betacam", a single-unit, 1/2 inch, broadcast use camera

1985
Single-unit, 8mm video camera

1987
Digital Audio Tape (DAT) deck

1988
"Mavica", electronic, still-image camera

1989
High-resolution, High-Band system, 8mm video series, "CCD-TR55", lightweight, compact-size, single-unit 8mm video

1990
"HD Trinitron", 36-inch, color HDTV for home-use

1991
"Kirara Basso" Series with "Super Trinitron" picture tube

1992
MiniDisc(MD) system

1993
"Digital Betacam" system, broadcast-use, component digital VCR

1997
DVD Video Player

1998

Ant, please be the voice of reason! It doesn't really matter, all companies just develop the next logical stage from the last piece of technology. The PC had analogue joypads with extra analogue buttons for car and flying games for as long as I can remember (early 90's easily).

In the end, it doesn't matter so long as SOMEONE invents things and other people try hard to perfect them.

How do you know?? If Porsche Challenge came out in 95, then Sony must've had the idea way before releasing it, so, naturally, Sony must've thought of it first.
