Only yoking, the game's pretty good from what I've played. Maverick mate, I know it's your opinion, but we all know that you're chatting out ya ar$e. Welldone for trying it out an all, but at the end of the day, even if you did like it, you were never gonna admit to it. I can't help but feel, if the game came out on Cube then you wouldn't be anywhere near as harsh on it.
I just can't get over the fact that you love spewing out the faults you see in Brute Force to anyone who asks if it's any good. Yet you seem to have something of an unhealthy love for Jedi Knight 2 on Gamecube, one of the single most pathetic ports i've ever played, that game has so many bugs it's just not funny.
Brute Force ain't amazing, there's many things bad I could say about it. But at the end of the day, it's a good fun, brainless shooty game. Though I suppose if you start off with a negative attitude before you even play the game, I doubt you're really gonna give it much of chance.

Same as Halo.

Whereas Brute Force gives you much clearer interface by pausing.

Exactly HOW far have you played into Brute Force? I've found numerous places to set up crossfires and ambushes. Especially on the assassinatin missions.

See above. Crossfires and Ambushes...

That's why you use the orders system to stop them wading in.

Been using the wide spread weapons to much? You'll find each characters has more of a 'spread weapon' and also a more accurate one.
Plus

It's dead easy to judge throw distances once you've gotten used to it.

Ha ha. A visual representation of how far your grenade is oging to go? Sounds good to me.

I now believe you haven't played more than an hour on it.

Give me some more games with characters like this and I'll get back to you.

Unless you like stealth and want to try a level that way. In which case you have two stealthy characters to use.
> and Flint's sniper skill is also pointless
If you like running and blasting. However A lot of levels can be approached differently. Through most of the game I used Flint.

I've found loads of uses for it.

At the expense of losing another weapon.

So You didn't play the multi for very long then? I don't think you're qualififed to comment on it then. Glad to see you didn't really.

Hey the games not for you. Live content is a bonus, you don't like it: don't download it. The game has good multiplayer squad based and single character combat.
> Brute Force has appaulung controls? Have you played Tomb Raider?
Thats not a defence of Brute Force by the way. You're just deflecting points on to another title. Not saying BF has bad controls or not (I haven't played it) but I'd thought I'd point out that doesn't really work in my book.
Oh and like you said earlier, you team mates AI is very annoying. It's okay for going through the game on the easiest difficulty setting, but anything above that and you'll find they wade into battle even when they're supposed to be covering you, and more often than not, get themselves killed. Very annoying when you're trying to get a perfect completion of the level.
> You won't like Conflict: Desert Storm then. :)
Actually I do, you see for starters Conflict Desert Storm was hot hyped as the next best thing after Halo. Even so, at least in Conflict your troops can easily kneel and go prone, and move that way without exerting force onto the thumbstick to keep it depressed. Furthermore you can actually control the other troops in your unti without effectively pausing the game, and the gameplay mechanics of Conflict actually made use of the ability to split the team of four men. By nature, Brute Force, whilst allowing the team to be commanded, does not allow much room for team dynamics, except in multiplayer where it only works because real people are in control. And in Conflict the computer controlled troops did not decide to wade into the thick of the fighting and get themselves killed or use all but one health packs.

You mean try and aim the ponderous crosshair as the enemy moves around ? Too often the only way of getting a kill is to fire a volley as you move, strafing the target and hoping a couple of shots hit home. Plus the grenade system is lame, power meters work for golf games but not combat ones.
> It's hardly Rugrats treasure hunt so you are wrong here.
No, I'm right actually. Poor controls, screams "I wanna be Halo wahhhhhh!", crap characters, crap plot, rubbish Live components, rubbish level design...need I go on ?
> Nope. They're more like the odd warped characters of 2000AD. Cliched

E...not. Though I agree that Red Faction's characters were hardly original. But seriously, you've got Tex - cowboy name for starters, has two big chain guns, likes shooting, and is the muscle guy, you've got Brutus - name is a play on brute, referring to his animal nature, talks like a religious nut bar, likes close combat and has 'feral' weapons, you've got Hawk and Flint, token females in the game, very little difference between either apart from Hawk's stealth mode, which seeing as most levels can be done by having the squad blast everyone in the way is pointless, and Flint's sniper skill is also pointless because, as mentioned, it's rearely needed anyway, and other team members can get a sniper rifle anyway.
> Have you played the game with anyone else at all? This is clearly
> wrong.
Yes, but then we realised why play rubbish when you can play genius like Halo, any of a number of Xbox Live games or split screen Burnout 2.
> Seen Burnout 2's claim to be a Live game?
Yes, it clearly says online score boards, whereas Brute Force says downloadable content. Even so, Burnout 2 does have a little added to it by way of the score boards because the essence of the game it to get the fastest time or crash score/money, the scoreboards allow, instead of comparing to a circle of friends or on chat forums where scores can be made up, for scores to be compared against hundreds of players, and gives new incentive to play so as to shave your time down and rise in the global rankings. Now, Brute Force.....hmmm...two multiplayer maps in the offing which add to an inferior multiplayer mode. Yup, that's good.

Aim at target and fire? What's not to get?

It's hardly Rugrats treasure hunt so you are wrong here.

Nope. They're more like the odd warped characters of 2000AD. Cliched would be more like most of the Red Faction lot.
> Graphics over gameplay.
Have you played the game with anyone else at all? This is clearly wrong.
> Apalling abuse of Xbox Live compatability - 2 multiplayer maps do not

Seen Burnout 2's claim to be a Live game?
> Most appaling controls.
I've had not a single problem with them, they're basically the same as Halo, just in 3rd person.
> Most ponderous targeting system.
Yet again, same as Halo. infact it was lifted directly out of Halo along with the controls..Bungie even gave them a helping hand.
> Most generally crap overall feel to a game.
Admiteddly some of the level seem pretty dull, but for the most part i've enjoyed myself. It doesn't give the old brain cells a work out, but it's good mindless shooty fun.
> Most wooden and cliched characters in a game.
That I don't dispute. Completly laughable they be.
> Apalling abuse of Xbox Live compatability - 2 multiplayer maps do not
> make it a Live game...
They're just extras, apparently there's more stuff to come as well.
Not the best game ever, but I'm enjoying it and that's all that matters.
