I am bored(again) so I wanted to know how you people found out about good ol' SR.

I personally used to buy Official Playstation Magazine a lot and there were loads of adverts of companies elling games. I saw SR's advert and became a member.
Found out about a site when looking for games sites about 8 months ago.

How about you....?

I found Special Reserve through an advert in the Christmas 1990 special of Amiga Format. I had just got an Amiaga 500 for Christmas.

When I saw how much cheaper the games were I thought there must be a catch, thankfully there wasn't & I've stayed a member ever since.

I always think on chat websites, it doesn't matter if you make an idiot of yourself because you're never gonna meet any of those people in real life and if it doesn't go too well then just don't go back.

Obviously this is how Stryke feels as well. I mean he's definitely making a fool of himself. Dogma better than Heat?!?!?!?! Please....

I saw them in a mag. I knew about these forums for a little while before I joined. I chickened out on a number of occasions before joining. I felt that I had nothing to contribute and that I would make an idiot out of myself.

Actually when I first found out about this site I went on the forums and quite enjoyed reading stuff.I didnt join then but then I needed to talk to someone about games and I have remembered this site, registered in the forums, started posting and I am waiting for my 2 GAD's which will arrive some time in November.
Didnt think this topic would get so many replies.Doing better than my Late Night Talk in the Sony forum anyway.

So we HAVE met! :0)

I found SR through magazine ads, but I only visited it for the news. After a while, I journeyed to the forums after pleas of free games, and I think I was about person number 15 to win.

I first joined special reserve about 4-5 years ago. Didn't find gameaday until I bought my PS2 from SR, just seen the advert in the mag.
