Exactly.
I would rather have Pantera bloke looking annoyed and screaming about respect and strength than a 30yr old record exec millionaire rapping about "my generation".
A big dance-off, but with more testosterone and pointing would rock.
Like the MJ "Bad" video, but better.

On one side:
Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach etc bleating about "Life is hard/Parents hate you/School is mean".

On the other side?
Pantera, Biohazard, Henry Rollins shouting about "Getting yours/payback/destroy with words"

Posing, baggy-shorts wearing nancy-boy gimp bands Vs Bald, tattooed, angry men with stubble and tattoos.

Anyone that thinks Limp Bizkit are "rock" and "aggresive music to clean your bedroom to", do me a favour and go and buy "A Vulgar Display of Power" by Pantera.
Christ, even the song titles ooze hardness.

Mouth for War
Walk
New Level
Rise
F****ng Hostile
By Demons be Driven

Pantera would yank Fred Durst's pants down and spank his little pink bottom with a spiky slipper any day of the week.
Stop wearing big shorts and hoodies, sulking in your bedroom because your mum says it's too dark to play outside.

Instead, welcome Pantera/Biohazard/Prong/Pro-Pain into your life and discover what truly shouty man-metal is about.

Failing that, buy the t-shirt and shorts and "jump around".

Bald Shouty Metal Rules.

Samba and Gold Chain are the only two tracks I got, but it's excellent stuff.

Nice to hear hip-hop without the macho posturing that seems to go with it.

Ugly Duckling are bloody fantastic. Have picked up their album? I've just got a few tracks "borrowed" from Audio Galaxy and all's good. Just wondering if they are consistently as good as, say, the wondorous A Little Samba.

The drummer from Obituary?

Man I havent listened to those guys in years, must dig them out tonight.
One of the few death-metal bands that wrote tunes.

Excellent stuff.

Anyone heard Andrew WK, fresh out of New York... He seems to be old-style metal, but i can't decide. the lyrics to party hard are as meaningless as they come, but he sings them with the conviction of a Jehovah's Witness. Plus there are old-style riffs, but they remind me of Feeder... And the drummer used to be in Obituary, which gives him nearly enough bonus points to make up for his silly silly name.

Download Party Hard and see what you think..

I hear you loud and clear Sheepy.

What I find pulls me out of that slump is to sit and imagine where my life would be without the music I need.

And then I dont care if anyone else likes it or not.

It takes more to be slightly different and stick to that than to go along with the rest and pretend to be something you're not.

Manics aint my cup of tea, but I can appreciate what they do and I at least know most of the songs.

The market is in my opinon

12 - 18 male and females

Who are morons, don't have any sense of music taste or are sheep (aye) who just follow whatever is in fashion.

Morons Morons Morons Morons

Get some bloody decent music in your CD Player... Bloody Morons.

Conclusion: Morons.

" Whit are ye listein tae? "

" Manic Street Preachers (trying to ignore) "

" They're baws "

" Okay, why do you not like them? "

" I dunno "

" Have you heard anything by them? "

" Naw ah dinnae know who they are "

" Right so your judging something you haven't heard? "

" Shut it right? Listen to some f**king proper music like Linkin Park and Static X "

That made me want to kill myself :-)

That conversation made me depressed, it did.

If you like Dilated, check out Styles of Beyond. Similar kind of style and made possibly the best underground hip hop LP of all time.

Old metal - any old iron, any old iron, any, any, any old iron.

That's not what you meant, is it?

Nu Metal sucks, I'm not interesting in blokes shouting how much their lives suck, stopping whilst some other bloke does a little rap, then continues to shout again.

But hey, they're not marketing it towards married twenty-somethings with kids, are they?
