(It's sad that you know what that is, PokÈmon boy!!)
... but it seems as though they jump up and down... or something...
There are also a lot more bosses than I thought... I knew it didn't stop at the Rainbow Bug thingy... but there are Black Widows, Herons, Blowy things, Bug things.... loads of them...
I hadn't seen anyother landscape until before this video either... it seems like the amajority of the setting is 'In the Garden' although I have seen sand levels... (Not beach) which seems to be down a pit of some sort, and also a Hedge maze thingy...
I love the way the PIKMIN die... their 'souls' come up from the ground and float up... they can be eaten, squashed, drowned and everything... it's cool... they can also be blown away by one boss and you have to run after them and 'whistle' them back out the ground...
I like the idea of having different 'units' as it were... I think three is enough... Bud, Flower and Leaf... I would imagine the order is, (From crapest to best) Leaf, Bud Flower, although saying from crap to best might be wrong... different PIKMIN for different jobs... I can't wait to see how they built bridges and all that.
The visuals look quite good, but I haven't really seen any post-N64 stuff... the textures are good, and the charachter models are impressive... but they're so small... I've seen good bits and bad bits... mostly good, but then again the bad bits might not be bad coming from someone who hates the dungeons in Zelda... :D
The PIKMIN voices sound quite funny... I suppose the humor in the game will be quite good... the way they run around like year-7 children on the first day of 'Big-School'... magic!
The game looks quite big as well... I mean, there isn't realy a limit to how many spaceship parts there are... and the fact that the 'Day-Night' idea has been incorporated means that gameplay can be widened by only being able to beat certain bosses at certain times...
Overall i've been quite impressed, and the game should take up my next GAD as the second GC game on my list... I just hope the games don't all come at once... because I want to enjoy them!
Game
Anyway, the Spaceship parts were atleast half the games longevity. And the old levels opened up plenty of new parts to new characters.
Lupus for example could fly across the great chasm in the first level while Vela could find a secret level through a passage under the water.
Find all the Tribals is tricky but a worthwhile task.
And if you find that hard, wait till you meet Mizar. :-)
Pikmin looks, erm weired, not my kind of game, + a spaceship! ARGH! I had enough of that on Jet Force Gemini, which was a great game until you got that far, having to back through all the old levels with the new people, sheesh.
+ you havn't answered my question can you kill them? surely this was answered while the video was playing. :)
There are so many I want to get!!! I might just save up and buy ten games when I get my GC!! :-D
These Pikmin are your minions to do your bidding.
You organize them and lead them around this world looking for parts to your spaceship.
It looks brilliant in motion.
I'm not sure about the longevity though...
anyway, the PIKMIN picture on pikmin.com isn't amazing, the little guy looks quite good but I have no idea what part he plays in this game, why can't you kill the flower people? they'd be the perfect targets, or........she loves me, shes loves me not, I can imagine ripping their pettles off one by one shouting "i'm gonna do it! don't try and stop me!" heh, oh well, I still dream for a perfect game.
What formats is this game going to be on? I guess the Gamecube but someone said the GBA? maybe there are more or is this an exclusive to Nintendo? thankyou for your help.
The little flower things are your friends!!!
Anyway, if you get the NGC magazine or your friend has its free video then watch the Pikmin video and you'll get the idea.
It looks fantastic.
And that was the bog standard shoddy E3 version...
I might have to try that game out, I hope you can squash those flower things.
ARGH! that musics annoying!
It looks like a brilliant game! (PokÈmon on the GBC was great, the N64 games were disappointing apart from the conversion of Tetris Attack)
Please correct me then.
I can't be bothered :-D
