Because I bust my ass every day making this website look and sound good, and if this website fails to make any money because of people going to our competitors, then I'm out of a job. The last thing we need is people openly chatting about other websites' special offers.

And that's besides the point. The point is, I asked people nicely TWICE to stop doing something, and they refused. Why can't you understand that we don't want people discussing stuff like that on our own forums? Is it so hard to comprehend?

There's rules at the bottom of the home page saying what you can and can't do. To be honest, I'd have thought two prominent messages posted by a forum moderator instructing you kindly not to discuss competitors on our forums would be warning enough. But obviously not. And I'm not concerned whether 'the deals were crap' or not, that's besides the point.

I think I've been perfectly constructive in my reasonings, and did point people to our own clearance site at ukclearance.com in the first reminder.

And for those of you who think us SR staff were shying away from discussing our pricing and special offers, there's a thread in the Site Bugs forum started by IB where we put our argument across with minimum fuss. If you have something to say about our prices, special offers, forum rules etc., then they should be posted in there.

Then there should be a clear set of rules on allowed topics, there isn't.

What Snuggly says is fair enough to me. If I had my own retail place, the last thing I'd want is a bunch of people on it discussing a competitors prices.

It seems ridiculous that people on here get constantly chewed out for breaking rules when, other than no swearing - which is ignored anyway by just about everyone - there are no rules published saying "you cannot discuss another retailer". If he was constructives Snuggly would have pointed out some SR bargains instead, or actually looked himself and saw that - the iffy offer of SOCOM outstanding - it was generally crap. GAME has had a promotion and p*ssed off anyone who saw the SOCOM offer because there was no physical way to get SOCOM at that price other than to order Hong Kong Legends at £1 and cross your fingers. I suspect anyone who did that will receive Hong Kong Legends because that's what your basket and checkout said you were buying. Unless your baskey said SOCOM £1 then you have no recourse to GAME. I'm writing to them to complain just on the off chance - I did screen dumps of the SOCOM page showing it was not on offer - and the Hong Kong Legends page showing it WAS on offer instead. I also have one off the SOCOM £1 advert. Probably be ignored, but worth a shot and wastes someones time reading it all....

I anyone else reads there is a way to get proof of there misleading, find hong Kong Legends on the site search, it shows it was on offer and NOT SOCOM...

Ha ha, I suspect GAME have a mass pile of emails flooding their way...ATTACK ! :)

I suspect it will do nothing, but I did a quick save of the page showing the false link to Hong Kong Legends and have emailed them to express my displeaseure - promotion or not, it was false advertising.

Probably not get a reply but worth 30 seconds typing...
