"PS1 - still worth it?"

My 7 year old is after a PS1 for Christmas. (Can't afford PS2)

I know little about the "console" world and so don't have a clue if there is life in the PS1 yet.

The Sega DC is available at the same price and is I assume technically better but what will swing it is the continued support (or lack of) for the two platforms.

So if anyone can enlighten me as to the status of the PS1 in terms of continued support that would be great.

The PS1 is certainly worth buying, there are hundreds of top games to buy and all very cheap these days.

You could buy a PS2 also and get both a PS2 and PS1 which is nice for £200.

There are so many quality games for the PSone and most of them are under £20. So I would go with PSone. Probably cause I had so much fun with it for the past 3 years

the only genres u beat us at is football, strategy, flying and racing all the others are best on DC and only football and racing are popular console games
SoA is better than FF
shenmue is better than onimusha by far
soul caliber kicks tekken
also all your games cost like £40 even the rubbish ones!
