Taken from CE

"Developing games is an expensive task on the GameCube.
The CESA (computer Entertainment Supplier's Association), has recently conducted an analysis of the Japanese games market and brought up a rather interesting fact.

Games development on the GameCube is currently the most expensive of all the formats with an average cost per game of ¥72Million (€525,000).

The cheapest console to develop for was the PSOne, with an average cost of ¥14Million (€102,000).

This data is based on the analysis of results obtained from 43 Japanese software producers."

Because it's potentially misleading bad press of Nintendo, when there could very well be pretty much no difference between the development costs at all.

I think the Gamecube has been put down enough without people intent on bending statistics to make it look worse.

And the facts to back it up are... where?

Anything that fails to back up it's claim with corresponding evidence is highly suspect.

Besides, "most expensive" could mean it cost five yen more, five yen being pretty much nothing.

So, where is the proof?

Well whatever their costs, they're lower than those of the GC.

What a useless comparison to make. I'm actually stunned that the PSOne costs that much to develop for, given that it's an obsolete gaming platform. What about PS2 or XBOX? They're the benchmarks for what Nintendo should be charging, not last generation's machines which will charge less in their desperate bid to cling onto whatever % of the market it has left.

Show me how much Sony and Microsoft charge for their current machines, and you'll have a good comparison.
