The very first Mario character to appear on a on a screen was Donkey Kong in 1981. When he was released it was one of the most popular arcade games ever, this was the birth of Mario.

8 years later Mario appeared for the very first time on the SNES and was by far the most popular and well known characters in gaming history. 7 years later Mario appeared yet again, this time on the Nintendo, Super Mario 64. Along with Perfect Dark, it proved to be the most popular game on the Nintendo.

Over the next 4 years Mario was appearing all the time with: Super Mario Deuluxe for the Game Boy, Mario Party 12and3, Mario Paper and Super Smash Bros. These proved to be some of the most well known, popular and most selling and took the world by storm.

Now over the next year we will see another two Mario games, this time on the GameCube. These games are mario Sunshine and another mario game that hasn't been named.

So the most popular game characters? Maybe, but there have also been other magor his for different consoles such as, Crash Bandicoot and Sonic but they didn't appear on toys as did Mario believe it or not!

And so I think Mario is the best after appearing in and on so many things,

And so I give him a rating of-100%!
