One of the measures being discussed by governments around the world to combat terrorism is ID cards. These cards could hold information about you including your age (date of birth), medical records, fingerprints, retinal scan, X ray info, a photo, credit rating etc...

This not only brings up questions about matters such as "your right to privacy" but brings the possibilty that these cards could be issued at birth.

Maybe in a few years time in order to play Quake V youll have to swipe your card down the side of the Playstation 3 in order to verify your age. What will ID cards mean, how will they effect to our lives, discuss!

No Im oppossed to ID cards until restrictions preventing insurance companies etc using them are in place. ID cards should be used to benefit mankind, not punish mankind!

ID discrimination laws should be put in place before the ID cards are introduced!

Only if your ID card identified you as underage say 12 or something, then it would send you to Quake V Kiddies PlayPenArena where characters shoot cakes, and jelly and the sprites dissapear as oppossed to having their limbs blown off!

If you were a mature gamer then this ofcourse wouldnt happen.

so your saying that Quake v would be less violent? e.g. take all the guns away? so you'd just run around the arenas? err, sounds like a good idea, maybe it'll catch on.

It wouldnt be all bad the games may still allow you to play the game if you were younger it would just mean that the violence etc was removed so as to make the game suitable for you.

Of course you could try to use an adults card, but then that adult could be fined or imprisoned if you did so.
