It looks like Dead Phoenix, whihc looked like one of the most promising and original games of recent times, let alone the Cube only, has been canned. I was looking forward to that. Why couldn't they have got rid of Killer 7?

Yes. So my comment was entirely justified.

It wasn't speculation as it actually had been canned. It didn't say any reasons, which was why I brought up the second article as proof.

Surprise surprise genius, if Dead Phoenix is being turned into Kid Icarus then Dead Phoenix does no longer exist, and therefore is cancelled.

Just because its been removed from release schedules and the websites been taken down does not mean its been canned.
The game is perhaps being turned into Kid Icarus meaning all information present on website is false, hence removing it and as they are still un-sure how long the change over will take that they haven't set a date yet.
The one you originally linked to had no hard facts and was just speculation. So there.
Me: Capcom have taken it off the release schedules and the websites are no longer with us. It has been canned.
If you don't get it this time I feel I'd struggle to make it any more obvious.

"Capcom Japan has just removed Red Dead Revolver (PS2) and Dead Phoenix (GameCube) from its release schedule and taken each game's website offline" -Gameforms.
