As Meka said Sony apparently have no plans to drop the price of the PS2 in the US or here, as they know the Xbox and GameCube stock will run out quickly forcing people to buy the PS2.
Sony really are on track with the PS2 and theyre making the most out of their dominant market position. Still the games are looking better now than a year ago when admittedly the Dreamcast was the best console around.

PS2 not dropping in price in the US, as Sony know the CUBE and Xbox will sell out in November, and people will still pay full price for the PS2 as an alternative.....
