Reporter: Hello, mind if I place this bulky, whirring package between us on the table? Itís certainly not a microphone

Chief Sony Bloke: No problem.

Reporter: Ok, Iím all set. Hello.

Chief Sony Bloke: Hello. The PS2 has been dropped in price in Europe now.

Reporter: Why?

Chief Sony Bloke: ToÖummÖbecause of Xmas coming up and people can afford this better now

Reporter: Nothing to do with the X-Box and Gamecube then?

Chief Sony Bloke: Nope. Not at all, itís because we care for our customers.

Reporter: So why didnít you do this at launch?

Chief Sony Bloke:ÖerÖbecauseÖumÖ

Reporter: Because you had an assured winner, no matter what you charge?

Chief Sony Bloke: No, of course not.

Reporter: So if you can sell them for Ł199 now, how come they were Ł299 at launch then? Have you changed the spec?

Chief Sony Bloke: Well, um, you seeÖ

Reporter: And didnít a lot of the launch machines have problems, SCEE replaced a lot of them didnít they?

Chief Sony Bloke: Metal Gear Solid 2

Reporter: Uh-huh, why is that only being released, possibly, over a year after launch? And GT3 almost a year after launch?

Chief Sony Bloke: Metal Gear Solid 2. Itís impressive eh?

Reporter: Maybe, we donít know yet. Itís been completed for months hasnít it?

Chief Sony Bloke: Metal Gear Solid 2. Coming soon

Reporter: How soon?

Chief Sony Bloke: Metal Gear Solid 2

Reporter: What about Stunt GP? Thatís on the box that Iíve had for almost a year now, where is that one?

Chief Sony Bloke: Bill Gates smells funny and has no friends

Reporter: Stop changing the subject, why did it take so long for A-list titles to appear?

Chief Sony Bloke: Nintendo Gamecube is for big-babies, and Shigsy looks stupid in the photo

Reporter: True, but can you please answer my questions?

Chief Sony Bloke: Metal Gear Solid 2.

Reporter: Look, stop saying that and answer my questions please, why after weíve spent Ł300 have we yet to see killer apps? Why is it only with the appearance of competition do you release the good stuff?

Chief Sony Bloke: Metal Gear Solid 2 will smash Gaycube. Bill Gates smells of wee

Reporter: You canít answer me can you?

Chief Sony Bloke: No speakee English, thank you very much. Metal Gear Solid 2

(At this point the reporter and Chief Sony Bloke were involved in a scuffle and taping ceased)

That's a mightily funny conversation. I want to be head of Sony, if it gives me the chance to be interviewed like that.

I dont really see the problem for Pakistan opening up the country for free trade can only do it good. However in the long term if it creates a class divide between say Pakistan and Afganistan then it may lead to more trouble. However as with all things this mess will take time to sort out, change will be gradual its just up to the UN to make sure everything progresses according to plan.

Agreed, but in relation to the lifting on trade embargo, how do you think this will affect Pakistan in the export sector?

Is there possible trouble with the sudden availability of a free market, whereas Pakistan has primarily been a closed market-sector dealing in local made goods?

Its not an ideal situation that the world is in at the moment, however as long as we can continue dialogue with these governments (even if theyre less than perfect) theres hope for a peacefull solution to the worlds problems.

The same applies to the cricket team going to Zimbabwe, it would be worse if they didnt go as it could make Zimbabwe isolationist and destroy dialogue creating a bigger mess.

Dialogue should always be the first response in these situations.

Didnt say they were, "In Europe"

Ok, I'll leave the humour and stick to socio-political discussions then.

So, what is the feeling of you all on the US Sanctions being lifted on Pakistan in return for their co-operation, despite their continued insistence that the US will not be allowed into their air-space.
A lifting of sanctions, despite the amount of US aid supplied to Afghanistan following their devestating bombing campaigns under the Reagan administration and continued through George Bush Snr's term at office?
