Who cares?!! Look at the releases!
They go, "Yer there's like 16 characters... *cough* hope noone notices the fact there's only actually 8, but we made different versions of each one! *cough*"
Are Nintendo that inept at thinking up new characters nowadays!!!
:S
copied and pasted obviously
Mario Kart: Double Dash is at least TWICE as fast as the E3 build, if not faster. Seriously, they've put a great deal of time and effort into getting the game as fast and responsive as possible, and it's playing VERY well. 150CC is almost too fast at first, just like it should be, with players careening into walls if they fail to use the brake going into turns
While the player in back will 'flaunt' the weapon they've acquired, the driver shows no outward signs of what's in store, and that amounts to a great feeling of satisfaction when you unleash a place-stealing disaster at the last moment..
The entire Mushroom Cup was open, which consists of four tracks: Luigi Circuit, Mushroom Bridge, Waluigi Stadium, and DK Mountain. There were also two battle modes available, including the incredibly fun Bom-Omb Blast ... where you hurl bombs at your opponents and hope to blow them up in the blast. It's a simple change from the standard Balloon Burst (also showcased), but is tons more fun.
Just had an email from Nintendo's UK press company, Cake, an d we've taken the following quote from the press release:
Just in time for Christmas Nintendo are launching the fantastic new title, Mario Kart: Double Dash!! ThatΥs right! All your favourite Nintendo characters and more are back for some serious kart action. At least 16 characters will be there to choose from including the likes of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Koopa Trooper and the hairy hero himself, Donkey Kong. For the first time ever, players will be able to choose two characters to race on each vehicle simultaneously. Mario Kart fans have never had so much to choose from!
At least 16 characters... Oh, and the email also contained the following UK (exclusive first party games only) release date list - you might want to look at the date for MKDD... =)

So whilst 'at least' doesn't really confirm much, we can
> Oh well, looks crap anyways.
Spiderman.
Mario 2D (Super Mario World) to Mario 3D (Mario 64) => GREAT!
Mario Kart 2D to Mario Kart 3D => GREAT!
Mario 3D to Mario 3D with a stupid waterpack (Mario Sunshine) => Stupid idea and should have stuck with the norm!
Mario Kart 3D to Mario Kart 3D with two ppl per kart and stupid looking power ups => Stupid idea and should have stuck with the norm!
:D

Bah, why didn't they stick with 2D Mario rather than make him 3D?
To make a change.
Which is exactly what they've done here.
Now, tell me, was it a successful change with Mario?
In the same sense, bah, Mario 64 ain't traditional Mario.

Bahh! The SNES game was all flat and great.
N64 game went all 3D, new tracks, and was great fun!
Not counting the GBA version as vitually EVERY game Nintendo have made for the thing so far has been a SNES port!
All I'm saying is why not stick to proper single character racing. What's with this stupid two charater milarky? And those stupidly huge chomp powerup things?
Bahh, this ain't traditional hardcore Mario Kart!

Yeah damn you Nintendo for not sticking to the same formulae used in 3 nearly identical games... why oh why did Nintendo change a game I already own 3 times.
