What is that I can hear you all cry?
Yes indeedy. A games console (any computer infact), internet access and a hard drive (e.g. HomeStation will have 150GB HD) means one thing.... well a couple actually.
This has what has come to my attention.
1) Hackers & Crackers - surely they could hack into the console and it would be espcially bad with the HomeStation (with it having more important stuff on).
2) Viruses - again, surely part or all of you games conole would go kaboom (well more like VVVVVvvvvvv.......*dead*) or maybe the virus might over heat it a make it literally catch alight
SO....this leads me to my conclusion.
Take a risk online with your console (fine by me :) ) and risk having your games console damaged ...OR... wait for sufficient software to intercept hackers or detect and get rid of viruses. This has been done with the Personal Computer already.
It won't be long until this software comes out but if you ask me, its a game. The companies (Nintendo, Sony etc.) surely knew this at the time and didnt want to let the public know until the time came and made a big thing out of it, making the punlice pressurised into buying security software.
Thanks for reading,

You said a minute ago that the ps2 has a HDD.
The Dreamcast has internet access, but no hard drive, and no viruses.
Basicly, the ps2 has a HDD because, without it, the framerate on the DVD's would be too slow and that may cause it to freeze or something.
But, in one easy sentence:
"Consoles won't get viruses, or need a hard drive, or need a cache."
