This is what happened when I first played SCII.

4pm - Load up game
4:02 - start normal game mode and choose Link
*15 minutes later*
Complete game, unlock 'Extra' mode.
*10minutes later*
Complete Extra mode

Then I spent two hours doing about 100 fights in the weapon master mode (98% of which were just normal fights) and completed that.

*somewhere around 6:30*
"This is guff"

Played it again the next day with Kirik, normal mode took about 10 minutes again, couldn't be sodding arsed with weapon master 'cause it's pants.

Over 100 hours I have clocked on Dead or Alive 3 and the survival mode. The story mode was over quick enough but then the survival mode stepped in and had me gripped for hous on end. It really does seperate it from other fighting games with the continous stream of enemies without load screens or glitches. Its so damn fine seeing the game running in full flow. Not a frame rate, collision problem or graphical glitch in site. I think IGN commented on it being completely glitch free.

yeah, fighting games peaked at street fighter 2 or mortal kombat I think. Can't be bothered with them any more, they just wind me up.

although that new mortal kombat doesn't look all that bad ...... nah

I enjoyed the demo but i never buy fighting games, they are good for parties then they wear very thin, the problem being is that once you know the moves most fighting games have no depth.

5 hours?

Its possible to do the story in 1 hour 30 minutes and then you have to sit through a boring quest mode which is basically just an advanced arcade mode with piece poor character situations which try to set it apart from other fighting games.

You can complete the game with every character in 5 hours, having never played it before.

How does 11 hours sound with the first Soul Calibur? Kept hoping for improvements and kept getting a load of balls.

You've got to give it a proper go, gamezfreak.

As many magazines have said, it really picks up once you're eased into the game and have played a few hours.
