As this is the spoiler thread I'll add a spoiler (not a very big one, but you're warned):

Once you win the swoop race you get Bastila in your party.

... (I know that's the idea of the swoop race and it's not much of a spoiler, but I was never certain I'd save her at this point in the game)

And because she's Jedi she's got a lightsabre. Double Ended! Watch her spin it as you press Y!

She's a right mardy moaning beatch though.

I didn't pay much attention when they gave the controls to the swoop bike, so I didn't know you had to let go of A then press it again to go up a gear - I just kept it pressed.
I went for most of my first race in first gear thinking "it's not very fast, is it?"

I'm not much further than that after 10 hours worth of play. I have played for a lot longer but killing Bandek in the duelling ring took me ages. I made the mistake of saving just as I entered the ring, and the last autosave was from about an hour ago. So I had to keep trying to kill this dude with 2 rubbish blasters, 3 medpacks and a single frag grenade. After about an hour and a half I found a cheat that allowed me to kill him, but only after some severe threats aimed at my xbox and some GBH on the controller.

You hound! I was going to do elite battle with it, but i think you're option sounds better.

Someone said to me it would take 20 hours or so to complete. No way, Jose!

I've clocked up about 7 hours and i'm only at the Rancour. I'm enjoying the sidequests, you see.

To kill the rancor:
Go to the pile of corpses, put a grenade in them, then put the odor in them.

I used a frag grenade, but I suppose the others should work too.
