For my work, I would like to get the opinion of males aged 14-30 (what a nice target group)
The question is this:
With cologne/aftershave/fragrance, do you care what the bottle looks like?
Companies spend millions designing new packaging for male toiletires.
Do you honestly care?

The problem is though, you'll present these findings to them, and they'll say "Yeah, but subconciously they will buy something that looks better, it's the X factor, isn't it?"

dont give a damn about the packaging , but it has to smell good , but then again , the packaging does make an impact on us , we may not think it , but would you buy a dark brown bottle with the words "lynx" on it , just think you never heard of "lynx" , and then you saw a bright color full bottle , whcih would you buy ? the old mans looking bottle or the young fresh cool looking bottle ?

The reason I ask is this:
We were having a presentation of new fragrance launches for next year at work, all in expensive designer bottles etc and I said "Well, blokes couldn't give a monkey's what it looks like"
"Well some do"
"No we dont. You can put it in a plain metal tin and call it "Smell" for all we care, as long as it does the job"
They disagreed, so I wanted to get opinions from other blokes, different ages etc as to what they thought.
And so far, the opinion is "Doesn't matter what the bottle looks like" for 99% of the guys.
Women go for all the fancy stuff, bottles shaped like teardrops etc, whilst we men just shrug and use it if we like it.
Men: Practical and basic
Women: Flowery and poncy.
(This is only in relation to marketing preferences)

I think it deos matter, not that i'd get it just for the bottle the product has to good as well, but i wouldn't get a summit really good in a bottle made of mud.
Nope, don't care at all.
Im not too bothered about the bottle, as long as it does'nt look cheap and crappy then its fine.
It honestly doesn't bother me.
