For my work, I would like to get the opinion of males aged 14-30 (what a nice target group)

The question is this:

With cologne/aftershave/fragrance, do you care what the bottle looks like?
Companies spend millions designing new packaging for male toiletires.

Do you honestly care?

Happy birthday Meka, i care about the package, if it looks crap i wouldnt buy it.

To say I don't care at all would be a lie, but it's not what it looks like, just how practical it is. If the bottle is a funny size or shape, and awkward to hold it might annoy me. If it's a 'spray' type, and it too much comes out when I spray it, it might annoy me.

But as to whether it looks pretty of not, I couldn't give a damn.

And I'm 24, by the way. Today.

See, this is what I told the marketing people and they just didn't listen to me.

Blokes, you like the smell and don't really care if the bottle looks like something fancy or just says "Smell".
As long as you like it, that's what matters.

But the women all go for the packaging over the fragrance.
Happened last week when they did a panel on washing up liquids.
The women all commented on the colour of the liquid, the bottle design, whether it was moisturising etc.
Blokes? "I buy Fairy. Why? Because I always have".

It's because blokes, when it comes to shopping for things that aren't games, videos, music etc, just get it and get out again quickly.
Women spend a lot more time on the aesthetics of a product, where as we're just "Does it work? Is it cheap? Good, I'll take it then".

Same with the fragrances.
The women's range is launching about 27 new brands in Nov/Dec/Jan.

We have 4 new ones scheduled for the next 12 months.

But the interesting thing I did find out, is that ALL of the women went mental for one particular men's fragrance.
They all admitted they'd quite happily flit about a guy with this fragrance on.
So, choose any of the men's fragrances out there.
There is 1 that is guaranteed to get you noticed and approving sniffs at your general direction.

Of course, I couldn't name it here, that would be advertising.
But trust me, buy this one smell and Voila!

As long as the after shave smells nice i dont care what the bottle looks like. i think it is a waste of time designing tolietire packaging. It does not make the after shave smell nicer. No i do not care what the bottles look like.
