Getting back to Dave Hebner, he retired from active refereeing in the mid 90s to concentrate of his role as a Road Agent. He still works for the WWE. There is also a Brian Hebner, Earl's son, who works for the WWE as a referee.

I agree that they overstep the realism barrier, but its a shame that they make people out to be superhuman when it is obvious they have said "when Taker lifts his arms up...you guys press this button to set the lightning bolt pyro-technics off"

Wrestling is fictional, it's entertainment and just like in every other form of entertainment it sometimes over steps the realism barrier.
