No one has in recent times so can't see that changing lol Before last year you could always be sure of 2 things, Braves winning their division and Red Sox losing. Should be a good match hopefully, obviously Jonny Gould will enjoy it being a Braves fan

No, but lets face it. Past reactions lead to the conclusion I made and at the moment the American stance with the rest of the world is more aggressive and hostile than it was under Clinton.

So, Atlanta against the Phillies is the feature game this Sunday. Do you think anyone can beat the Braves to the Division title?

I think it was a medical thing actually as the movement of the bat allows him to actually bat as he wouldn't be able to normally. Sure i remember a game on 5 talking about him and something about fits i think.

But it also does make the bat speed faster and hitting easier as instead of having to move a stationery bat backwards then forwards to hit the ball, you've already got that movement going on, you just have to hope the ball comes to you when your moving the bat backwards and not forwards :-D

I use that technique and it works pretty well

Didn't I hear somewhere that the twitchy bat thing was an attempt to control his power/swing?

While the anti-Boston part hopes he did give that fan a leathering the Yankees fan in me hopes that he didn't as he is a very important member of the team, plus i love the twitchy bat batting stance :-D

I suppose it would be more of a short punch or a threat perhaps. The fact that Sheffield isn't in trouble or doesn't look like being in any trouble because of the incident suggests that he never actually hit him at all.

Hmm my cousins were saying he hit the guy, lying baskets they are. MLB said he threw an 'abbreviated punch' whatever the hell that is :-D

According to the report, Sheffield didn't hit the fan. It said he tried to move the fans arm out of the way so he could throw the ball. The fan hit Sheffield in the mouth.

The report mentioned the 'Ron Artest' incident and how Sheffield reminded himself of that so he didn't react. Good for him.

Anyway, Johnson giving up 3 homers in a game, rubbish player :-D

Fair play to Boston though he only gave up 5 hits so they made them count when they did manage to hit his pitches, he did get 9 strikeouts so wasn't like it was a terrible performance

And Sheffield smacking that Boston fan more than makes up for the defeat :-D
