I went for Beltran and the Mets because they're on form and they've been smacking Florida around last couple of games, should be a guaranteed hit
Carlos Beltran tomorrow on the red hot Mets team at the moment. One of few times i'll be cheering on a Mets player
Well the shuffle of the line up didn't exactly work, but then with Pavano on the mound it doesn't really matter if the batting line up was perfect

My apologies then, when you said xenophobic customers i figured you meant the customer base as a whole.

Don't read your posts in Life i'm afraid, i've seen quite a few of yours though in General Chat where you're usually making some remark at the American's expense though. Like i said i usually take them just as a joke but as i was bored in college i thought i'd stoke up an argument. Typical American eh :-D
Now as i said, back to the ball de stick talk!!!!!
I said 'xenophobic customers' meaning a section of their customers not all of them.
I thought the follow up point saying 'some' people would get annoyed if a Frenchman won the pools might have made this made this clearer.
I'm not in the habit of generalising an entire people and from my posts in Life... I thought you knew that.

But you can't generalise the whole country, which you did in your first post, by some uneducated southern states. Try going to places like Cali, Florida, New York, Seattle etc and you will see they aren't xenophobic and very welcoming people. Now hush as i'm off to hunt me some mexicans :-D

Because i know you and your habit of making anti-american posts. Only this time i had a boring college class so decided to nibble on this bait instead of just dismissing them as harmless fun :-D
It was most likely due to that post in general chat got me a little annoyed so i pounced on the next one that seemed like a dig at America
I'm saying the amount that did would be a large enough amount that most people would notice.
I also made the point that if someone in France won the English/british football pools you might see a similar reaction here but you appearto have skated over that bit and made it all about America (how very American of you). :P
> No, but lets face it. Past reactions lead to the conclusion I made

The American's government stance is more hostile and aggressive, let's try to distinguish the two. Unless of course you've interviewed every single American and Canadian and have facts to support your statement that they're all a bunch of xenophobes which i instantly know isn't true as you haven't interviewed me yet.
Now had you said the uneducated fundamentalist sections of the US are xenophobic then i would agree with you, however the whole country is not. If we're to judge the American people as a whole on those areas then i could just easily pick the english people who support the BNP and come to conclusion the English are a bunch of racists.
But anyway it's Friday and i've had this nonsense of a conversation tons of times with people i went to school with and really can't be bothered to get fully into it.
Back to the ball de stick talk!!!!! :-D
